Friday Favorites: A Beautiful Fall Week

We had a wonderful week.  With our weather feeling a bit more fall-like we have been making every effort to get outside and enjoy it.  We went on lots of hikes this week! 




Friday was just beautiful and Evan and I took advantage of the weather to go for a hike.  







I am loving this new pumpkin spice granola! It has been a delicious way to add some flavor to my yogurt parfait breakfasts.



Speaking of foods-- these Java chip Oreos are just dangerously good!  The boys had been asking for some snacks and we picked up a couple of packages of Oreos but these were my favorite.    



I had the house to myself all afternoon on Saturday while the boys and my husband went to the movies.  I love having that peace and quiet every now and then.  I spent most of my time reading on the deck.




My husband and I had a wonderful afternoon out of the RZR Sunday.  It was beautiful out and stopped alongside a pretty pond for a snack.





It was a bit muddy




It was another beautiful day on Monday so Evan and I headed out on a hike as soon as his schoolwork was done.  It was wonderful aside from all the mosquitoes that ate us alive!




We woke to a thunderstorm and some heavy rains on Thursday but it cleared enough that by late morning Evan and I decided to walk to the state park and do some hiking.  






We've had some incredibly beautiful sunrises over the lake this week! 











I got a new Stitch Fix box in this week and ended up keeping the whole thing! That has only ever happened one other time but I am loving these new lighter colored jeans.  I have been wearing dark jeans for so long that I forgot how fun the lighter washes can be. 

I also love the little button details of the sweater near the wrists; so cute!


I haven't painted my nails in what feels like forever.  I jumped on the Colorstreet bandwagon pretty quickly and have been using them for months but this week I got the urge to actually paint my nails.  I forgot how much fun that can be... they're just plain gray right now but I have plans to add a few nail stickers to them before the weekend.

    I saw those Oreos at the store the other day and I wanted to get them so bad, but nobody else in my fam likes coffee flavored stuff. I knew that meant I'd have to eat the whole bag so I just left them on the shelf. Now you have me rethinking my decision. Haha.

      Yep, there was one top I didn't really love but it was cheaper to keep it and get the whole box discount than ship it back!

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. Dorm Move In & Alec's Dorm Photos

 Alec and I loaded up the car Wednesday morning. I was literally unable to sleep the night before thinking there was no way we were going to fit all his stuff ( see yesterday's post! ) into my car. But first try we got it all to fit! There wasn't really any room to spare but that's okay, we all fit and so did everything he wanted to bring with him.  Since Alec is in the honors program he got to move in 2 days before the rest of the school (on Thursday).. which meant we didn't hear a whole lot from the school on what to expect for move in day. We were told to be there anywhere between 10 am and 7 pm so we decided to shoot for the 10 am and give ourselves plenty of time. His roommate wouldn't be moving in until Saturday and Alec will have a full day of activities and meetings today (on Friday).  We did label everything with Alec's name, dorm name, and room # just in case and printed out a parking pass (again, just in case)-- none of which we needed to do but were
