WonderWorks in Myrtle Beach

We had mostly cloudy and rainy days while we were in North Carolina visiting my family and one of those days we decided to make the drive down to Myrtle Beach (about another hour and half south) to check out the WonderWorks Museum.  My sister had been once with her family when they first moved down here and thought we'd all enjoy it.

The line to get it was just over an hour long and we were worried it might be real crowded inside but found that we were able to experience most everything.

The ceiling inside the lobby really made you feel like you were in an upside down house.

Once you enter the spinning portal it orients you right-side up.

We thought of this museum as part science museum, part kids museum, part amusement park and had a great time.

We all challenged one another to a reflex challenge... the family thinks I won but I'm not so sure.

Ian versus his cousin

Alec versus his dad

My sister versus my aunt

Trying to crack safe combinations with more and more options.

Searching for specific colors of beads in millions of blue beads.

We ended our day on the ropes course.

It was a really fun way to spend our afternoon together.

    1. LOL! My aunt felt the same way- they do have a side entrance that bypasses the tunnel for those that don't want to/can't handle it.

    1. The whole concept is that a scientist was working on something when his lab blew up and turned the whole house upside down... or something like that. The magic portal makes it so you're turned the same way as the house and then it's part science museum/ part hands on exploration fun.

    1. I have seen them around and was always curious but we had never been inside one; I guess I had always assumed it was meant more for younger kids but we all enjoyed it.
