Photos of the Week: July 24th
Another week of challenging prompts! I really struggled with strip, road sign, and even backyard as our yard is looking really awful after all the rainstorms have repeatedly washed away our beach.
– backyard (Summer) – A photo of our backyard taken from the side yard.
– road sign-- Loved how this road sign looked when seen through a nearby clump of shrubs.
– strip -- Seeing a strip of blue sky through the trees overhead
– lazy day-- We spent a lazy day kayaking around the lake.
– Your Choice-- The rains continue with huge amounts of water coming over the damn under the covered bridge.

Wow! That's a lot of water overflow. Great photos.
ReplyDeleteYep, I couldn't get it to show in the photo but the water was so high a jet ski fell over the upper damn and got lodged under that covered bridge! It was crazy.
DeleteSuch beautiful photos once again! Love your backyard view!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThat is so much water!!
ReplyDeleteYeah it is crazy how high the water was getting... hopefully the rain will die down some now.
DeleteWow! That's a serious amount of water coming over the damn.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect view from your back yard, it looks so peaceful and tranquil. :)
Thank you!
DeleteWhat a fab collection of photos. It does sound like the prompts could be challenging. I love the look of your lazy day x
ReplyDeleteSome of them are really challenging or I get stuck on an idea that would be perfect but not something we see or do that week. I do like the challenge of it though.
DeleteThose are challenging prompts! Road sign is hard because the only time I see road signs is when I'm driving! And I'm certainly not going to be taking pictures then! Strip is hard also, but I really like the picture you chose! That photo would make a good book cover!
ReplyDeleteYes! I don't see many road signs unless I'm driving and it's impossible to take photos then.
DeleteHoly frijoles, that is a crazy amount of water pouring under the bridge. I would be worried about the bridge!! Gosh your lake water is like a mirror. Just beautiful. I am so behind on my iSpy photos. Need to get a post published.
ReplyDeleteThere actually was a good amount of space between the water and the bridge; though other roads and bridges haven't been so lucky.
DeleteThe day of kayaking sounds wonderfully relaxing! there is so much water there though in the last pic - hope you stay dry! :)
ReplyDeleteHope you had a good weekend! It was a great one here, busy Saturday with volunteering but a relaxing Sunday :)
Away From The Blue
It really is quite relaxing. I love kayaking.
DeleteI love that you have a lake in your backyard - what a treat! The lazy day photo is lovely too. But wow!! on the water pouring over the dam!! We've had less problem than usual with flooding in our local area this year, thankfully.
ReplyDeleteIt really is such a wonderful treat to have the lake right in our backyard.
DeleteWow that looks like a lot of water!
ReplyDeleteYep! It finally seems to be slowing down and receding now. It helps that we've had a few warm days without rain.
DeleteSky and trees pic reminds me of my backyard. Loving these power of nature photos.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteSome really great photos, I used to love theme prompted posts and currently looking for one to follow and join in with xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you! Lysha from A Camera and A Cookbook hosts; she posts new photo prompts each Saturday for the following Saturday.
DeleteWOW what a great week of photos. Love your surroundings, what a beautiful place to live in. My faves are the kayak and the water under the bridge and of course that wonderful strip of sky. CarolG
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI hope it has settled somewhat and you are not inundated with more water...yikes.
ReplyDeleteThank you for being part of this week's Life This Week link up. I enjoy seeing the posts linked by the community of friendly bloggers every Monday ...and you are one of those. Next week's optional prompt is Question. I hope to see you then. Denyse.
We seem to get at least a bit of rain each day this summer; even if it sometimes comes in the middle of the night like last night.
DeleteLooks fun. You get out of some great adventures :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for linking up to Creative Mondays #CreativeMondaysLinkUp
We sure do!
DeleteBeautiful photos of a leisurely week, although the water flowing over the dam under the cover bridge is not so leisurely.
ReplyDeleteYeah, we've been having a pretty rainy summer and the water is high everywhere.
DeleteAnother fabulous series of photos from your week!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your link at My Corner of the World this week!

DeleteLots of great outdoor pictures. And what a lot of water in that overflow. Wow!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yeah we had an insane amount of water in July.
DeleteWhat an amazing shot of the covered bridge! That's a lot of water.
ReplyDeleteIt really is! Something tells me it's going to look like that again by Monday with a hurricane coming.
