I'm Currently...

It's the first Wednesday of the month and time to link with Anne in Residence for her Currently series.  This month we're looking at what we're currently consuming, exploring, getting, hoping, and seeing.

consuming: Lots and lots of fresh fruits, veggies, and seafood mixed in with plenty of sweet treats.  It's all about balance, right?

exploring: All the local trails.  Whenever we get a warm enough day that's not raining we try and hike at least an hour.

getting: So excited for our vacation and the end of the school year!  We have two trips planned in the next 2 months... which I'm hoping to stretch out into 3 trips over the next 3 months.  I'm still debating between Maine or the Cape & the Islands for the 3rd trip...

Cape cod

Wilmington Beach (North Carolina)

York, Maine

hoping: Our weather warms up for good real soon!  I can't wait to sit out on the deck to eat breakfast and the patio to eat lunch.  Two of my favorite times of day during spring and summer and I just miss enjoying the quiet of these views while breathing in the fresh air.

seeing: So many signs of spring!  The birds are chirping and visiting our feeder so much.  We see buds on the trees and small flowers starting to bloom.

Linking up with: On the Edge,

  1. So lovely to see signs of spring and to be able to look forward to eating outdoors. It's one of the things I love about spring and summer too. Lovely to have some vacations to look forward to as well. #MMBC

  11. I want to eat what YOU'RE eating! How was that salmon prepared? Very curious. Would also love to know if you recommend Magic Hour. I'm finishing up Four Winds right now and am finding it --so far, at least--slower then either the Nightingale or Great Alone...

    1. I LOVED Magic Hour! I thought Four Winds was slower too and not her normal type of story though I enjoyed the in depth look at the great depression/dust bowl era. The salmon recipe can be found here: http://pennyspassion.blogspot.com/2019/05/lets-make-basil-parmesan-salmon-in-air.html (though I made mine in the oven using light mayo & dried basil).

    1. I know what you mean, I read all these blogs where bloggers are trying to give up sugar and I just KNOW I could never and would never want to do that.

  13. I am all about fruit lately too. But a good treat is definitely in order. I am super excited for warmer weather too and maybe a hike or two.

    1. I'm hoping to get out hiking in the next day or two as we're supposed to get some sunny weather after a few days of rain. It's funny how much just a day or two at home makes me feel cooped up in the spring when I'm find with that in the winter.

  14. Having trips coming up soon has to be a nice feeling! I am hoping to do a bit more this summer than last, and that's exciting.

  16. I have a major sweet tooth, so your photos are really making me salivate...but the grapes just as much. Fruit that's cold and juicy has been a bit of a pregnancy craving :) These hiking options look amazing, and I cannot wait for reading outside weather too.
