Spring Recipe Bucket List
I only recently started putting together a bucket list of recipes for us to try each season and I am loving this push to try new foods! We have found at least 3 new favorite dishes for the whole family through these lists so I am determined to keep it going!
Looking around on Pinterest, I found quite a few recipes that caught my eye!
2. Scones; I have been wanting to make scones for quite some time and though using some fresh spring fruits from our misfits box would make a delicious breakfast treat.
3. Weight Watcher's Ramen Noodle salad-- I have been looking for more salads that use cabbage!
4. Honey butter Old Bay grilled shrimp
5. Orzo with tomato and zucchini
6. Turkey burgers with zucchini
7. One of these new chicken marinades
8. Strawberry chocolate chip Bundt cake-- I don't think Alec and I have EVER made a Bundt cake! But I thought this might be a delicious dessert to try for mother's day.
9. Shrimp, peas, and rice one dish
10. Pistachio delight; I found a few recipes on Pinterest that look promising but I'm hoping my mom and I can recreate this dessert that she used to make for me all the time when I was growing up.
11. Some new side salads like this asparagus/ strawberry salad.
Linking up with: On the Edge, Centerpiece Wednesday,
Yum!! I have a good quinoa salad that uses cabbage, I need to make it again!
ReplyDeleteI have never tried a quinoa salad but that sounds good! Do you have the recipe on your blog?
DeleteThat ramen noodle salad looks fantastic. I can't use the packet for seasoning because of MSG, but I am going to look up alternatives for flavor. My mom was telling me about a homemade chicken noodle soup recipe, but instead of making the noodles, using ramen noodles! I love that idea.
ReplyDeleteYou can make homemade chicken bullion; which is all that spice packet really is. I don't know how complicated it is to make from scratch though.
DeleteThese all sound delicious! I recently made something similar to Pasta Primavera but without cream and lemon. I made a marble bundt cake on Friday and we've already eaten all of it!! The strawberry chocolate chip version sounds sooooo good!! And love the look of the asparagus strawberry salad. I've never had asparagus raw! I might have to try it! Also want to try the Orzo with Zucchini! My family loves everything Zucchini!
ReplyDeleteI would bet that the asparagus was blanched or roasted as I've never had it raw either but I could be wrong... I too love anything made with zucchini.
DeleteAll I can say is... you have one lucky family. Everything looks delish!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThis is a great idea for a spring list. I can't wait to hear how they turn out and might need to try a few myself.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteWhat a great idea putting together a seasonal list of foods to try. I love orzo, but it doesn't go down well with my family, in fact I don't think my family has much of the same taste as me for anything! I've never made pasta primavera though, maybe they will like that?

My family is perfectly find with pasta in any form! But the boys aren't very big on veggies so I'm thinking that pasta primavera will not be their favorite. However, every now and then I cook things that I like and even if they don't they can make their own meal.
DeletePasta primavera is something I've been wanting to try, too! It sounds delicious.
ReplyDeleteI just love fresh veggies and pasta so pairing the two is always a win in my book.
DeleteI like turkey burgers!
ReplyDeleteWe buy premade turkey burgers all the time but I really liked the idea of adding shredded zucchini and making my own!
DeleteThis makes me hungry. I love turkey burgers and make them quite often. Once you find the perfect recipe, you never turn back.
ReplyDeleteThat is so true! We have so many recipes that we try never to mess with because we do just love them.
DeleteThan ramen noodle salad looks wonderful! I am going to try that one too.
ReplyDeleteYou'll have to let me know what you think of it when you try it.
DeleteA recipe bucket list - yep, I can absolutely get behind that one!
ReplyDeleteRight?! I had a friend share one in the fall and I thought that was just genius. I love to push myself to try new recipes.
DeleteI make a pistachio delight type recipe that is loosely based on what I've heard called Watergate salad. PC loves it. His mom made it when he was a child. My version changes with the ingredients I have on hand but it is a holiday staple.
ReplyDeleteHave tabs open for some of these ideas. Thanks for sharing. Back on WW over here. Oy vey.
I am determined to stick with it and have been working to make more and more of our meals WW friendly.
DeleteOooooh -- I can't wait for asparagus season!!! Whooo hooo!!!
ReplyDeleteI love asparagus!
DeleteOoh Joanne, these all look so good! I love pasta primavera and the honey butter shrimp looks amazing, too! My 8 year old is the biggest fan of bundt cakes (but we always have to pronounce it the way the mom in My Big Fat Greek Wedding says it..."boooondtttt"). In fact, he just asked me to make one last night but I managed to push it off onto my husband by suggesting his go-to (and my favorite)...my mom's pineapple upside down cake! That does not work in a bundt pan so I was off the hook! Thanks for sharing these wonderful recipe ideas and linking with me!

I love pineapple upside down cake but that is one recipe I have never tried making (mostly because I'd probably be the only one to eat it and I'd happily eat the whole cake)!
