Pink Popcorn for Valentine's Day

This month's Pinterest challenge was all about Valentine's day treats. I knew I wanted to make some sort of yummy popcorn treat like this Pin.  I have a whole board of popcorn treats/snacks but rarely think to do anything at all with popcorn.

I gathered all our ingredients: popcorn, pretzels, graham crackers, red candy melts, and sprinkles.

I used the air popper to pop a full batch of popcorn.

I laid out a few strips of wax paper and spread the popcorn out on it making sure to pick out any un-popped kernels.  I sprinkled a few handfuls of pretzels and broken chunks of graham crackers over the popcorn.

I melted the candy melts in the microwave following the directions on the back of the packages.

Then poured it liberally over the snack mixture; giving it a good stir until everything was evenly coated.

I made sure to sprinkle on my sprinkles while the candy coating was still wet and then let everything harden and dry.

My boys didn't even wait for everything to cool and harden before "taste testing" it for me.

Once everything was hardened I broke apart any large pieces and we stored our mix in a large Ziploc bag; though our entire batch of snack mix barely lasted 24 hours.  It was that good!
