Recipes We've Been Making This Fall

It's been awhile since I shared my last recipe round up post.  These are a collection of recipes we've found on the internet, tried, and really enjoyed.

I can't tell you how many times we've tried a recipe, loved it, and then were never able to find the same one again!  Does that happen to you?

I thought one way I might be able to prevent that was to start a mini blog series where I hope to share at least a few times a year what recipes we've been trying.  I'll give the name of the recipe, a link to the blog where we found it and one of my own pictures.

This month we tried out lots of sweet treats!

I ran out of granola one week and rather than run to the store I decided to make my own.  I followed this Healthy Peanut Butter Granola recipe by Joy Food Sunshine-- though I didn't make it quite as healthy as I did add in a handful of Nestle Tollhouse Morsels once it was cool to the touch.  It was delicious! I use just 1/4 cup each day on my fresh fruit and plain fat free yogurt for a bit of added crunch and sweetness.

We had some acorn squash for dinner one night and I decided to switch it up and make Maple Pecan Roasted Acorn Squash from The House on Silverado.  I didn't use the bourbon and I didn't have any bacon but even with just the butter, syrup, and pecans it was so delicious!

We also made this Farmhouse Apple Fritter Bread with Cider Glaze also by The House on Silverado.  It was amazing!!

We needed to make some candied pecans for our chicken chopped salad and we used this recipe from A Southern Soul. They were delicious and so easy to make.

This Moose Munch recipe from A Turtle's Life For Me was delicious; though we did add in some peanut butter M&M's.

We made caramel apples using A Grace Full Life's directions and gourmet chocolate candy apples using this recipe from Craving Some Creativity though we used regular Tollhouse morsels melted with a bit of coconut oil in place of the shell fruit dip.

What a yummy month it's been!

    1. I had never heard of Apple Fritter bread before. I can see why it would be so popular.

  2. My mother used to make acorn squash a few times each fall, with butter, brown sugar and bacon. I didn't care for it as a kid, and have never made it as an adult. Something for my bucket list next year!

  4. I always save recipes I tried and loved to my Pinterest; otherwise, I'll forget where I found them! I also reference it sometimes when I don't know what to make - super handy. :)

  8. That apple fritter bread looks delicious! I don't think we've ever made our own caramel apples. That might be a fun dessert idea when our daughter comes home for Thanksgiving!
