Last year (in 2019) when we visited friends on our summer vacation, my friend and I kept joking about trying to get the "1,000 piece puzzle shot." I would say that some of these are DEFINITELY 1,000 piece puzzle shots! They're beautiful and you captured the colours so well.
OH MY GOSH!!! Frame all of these. Open your Etsy shop and start selling your photography. Simply stunning. The colors. The quiet water yielding mirror perfect reflections...hey, I like that sentence!! Just beautiful.
We did have a beautiful fall this year, didn't we? The lake photos are gorgeous. Loved seeing the leaves turning in your neck of the woods. Thanks for sharing.
Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. And through the years I had SO MANY favorites! Growing pains aired in 1985 which put me around age 8 and it stayed on the air until I was 15 or so; I'm pretty sure most people in my age group watched mostly for Kirk Cameron and all his antics. I still have a soft spot for family sit-coms! The Facts of Life aired when I was just 2 and stayed on the air until I was 11 so I'm sure the episodes I remember so fondly were either some of the later ones and then reruns shown later on when I was old enough to watch from the beginning. I think everyone would have loved an Edna Garret in their lives. Benson another sitcom that began airing when I was just 2 and was done by the time I was 9 (another one I must have watched mai...
When my boys were little and we'd take them out to eat I kept a small bag of toys in the car to grab on our way into any restaurant. That way they would be entertained and a bit quieter while we enjoyed our meal. Now that the boys are older we don't keep a bag of toys handy but we do have few games we use to keep the boys occupied if they start getting bored or squirmy while we're waiting for our food or our check. While there are many phone apps, portable gaming systems and electronic games that could occupy my kids we prefer to use the time together at restaurants to connect with one another and so we tend to play games like: Hangman-- any restaurant that has paper place mats works well for this. We take turns picking a word and drawing our hangman stand then take turns calling out letters and seeing if we can solve the puzzle. Tic Tac Toe-- This works best with pen on paper place mats but we have played making a grid with butter knives ...
Today is the official start of spring and this week the Quarterly Bucket List Bloggers and I are once again hosting a link up for goals/lists/resolutions/etc. that we'd like to tackle this spring. I'll share my spring bucket list but first let's take a quick look back on how I did with my winter list. I had no idea just how cold and snowy this winter was going to be when I made up our list but I am so thankful that I did! The list helped me focus on some fun things while often feeling like I was trapped inside. How I did with my winter bucket list: 1. Celebrate Christmas with the family --Check! 2. Enjoy my husband's executive Christmas party at Via --Check! It was delicious and oh so fun to visit with everyone. The only photos I even thought to take were of my food; kicking myself for not getting a photo of my husband and I 3.Check out some Christmas lights -- Check? I did see some while we were out and about but we never went out specificall...
I have always had a pretty wide variety of taste when it comes to music. I think part of it was growing up in the 80's and early 90's we listened to the radio the most. I mean yes I bought albums, cassettes, CD's (when they came on the scene) and would spend hours in Strawberries music stores scouring the shelves for the perfect single or album to buy. But most of the time when we were out in the yard, at the beach (on our boom box), or driving around we listened to the music on the radio. I lived for Casey Kasem's weekly top 40 and Shadoe Steven's American Top 40 where those most popular songs were counted down each week; the ones played at school dances, roller skating rinks, the arcade, etc. I have so many memories associated with these songs of my childhood. In no particular order they include: Def Leppard-- "Pour Some Sugar on Me," "Animal," "Love Bites"- - I have fond memories of roller skating at our local rink to these! Bon ...
One of my goals this years was to tackle our laundry room and come up with a better system for storing all our cleaning supplies. I bought some bins just like the ones I used in our pantry re-do of 2020 and set to work. Here's what it looked like before I started: I had debated about repainting the room but ultimately decided it wasn't worth my time since I do like the color and it's only the laundry room. I cleared everything out of the room that I could (so no the washer, dryer, shelving unit/system, or hand vac and it's attached wall charger). Then I cleaned the walls and the shelves and put on some of these shelf liners . I bought a few packages on Amazon years ago and as I tackle each room of the house I've been putting them on. They're a huge help with the wire shelving units since nothing falls into the cracks anymore. I had these new bins I purchased and began grouping like items together: All the laundry clea...
