Encouraging Hearts and Home: Quick and Simple Fall Ideas

I don't know about you but I just love crafts or recipes that are quick and simple.  Sure there are many crafts and recipes that are worth big chunks of my time but give me a quick and simple idea and I'm a happy gal.  This week's features were all inspired by some quick and simple fall ideas from last week's party.

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. Favorite TV Shows Growing Up in the 80's and early 90's

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. And through the years I had SO MANY favorites! Growing pains aired in 1985 which put me around age 8 and it stayed on the air until I was 15 or so; I'm pretty sure most people in my age group watched mostly for Kirk Cameron and all his antics.  I still have a soft spot for family sit-coms!  The Facts of Life aired when I was just 2  and stayed on the air until I was 11 so I'm sure the episodes I remember so fondly were either some of the later ones and then reruns shown later on when I was old enough to watch from the beginning. Share Your Shelf # 18 & Books I Read in September

 It's the first Thursday of the month and time for Share Your Shelf with  Marilyn,   Jennifer,   Tanya,  and I. This post and link up are dedicated solely to books and book reviews and it's one I look so forward to each and every month. I am always looking for new and more book ideas. I thought I was going to have such a long list of books to share with our long plane rides but I hardly read at all on vacation. I did manage to read 10 books this month and quite a variety of them at that. I also finished my 52 Books Challenge completely.    1. My Next Breath by Jeremy Renner-- I feel like I live in a cave sometimes. I had no idea that Jeremy Renner had a near death accident with a snowcat years ago and underwent many surgeries and extensive rehab. The book is his memoir of that event, his recovery, and the lessons he's learned from it all. The auidobok version I listened to has the actual 911 recordings in it too. Prime Purchases in September

 It's the first Monday of the month and time for Prime Purchases. I caved in to an offer for a free trial of Amazon Prime at the end of August that allowed me to order a hiking skirt and have it come in in time to for our trip to Montana. Unfortunately, having that free shipping seems to have enticed me to order more... But my free trial is over and hopefully my ordering will tamper off. Though with Christmas coming up that might not be a possibility plus I've already placed 2 orders in October! Meanwhile check out all the stuff I bought last month.   Clothing: First up is the hiking skirt I ordered for our trip. I love it... but I didn't get a chance to wear it. Mornings were much too cool for a skirt even though afternoons were downright hot.  I also ordered another kimono ... It's the first Wednesday of the month so it's time for the Currently link up with Jenn. The prompts for October are loving, anticipating, looking forward to, wearing, and cooking.  Loving:  This time of year I love our hikes and seeing all the pretty leaves.  Evan and I had a fabulous morning at the zoo. I loved seeing all the animals out enjoying our nice weather too.   Anticipating: I am anticipating sleep in this morning. Evan and I went to a concert last night; it was at a new (to us) concert venue. It was an indoor/outdoor venue and we were encouraged to get there super early for parking. Think 4 pm for an 8 pm show! We anticipated large crowds and not getting home until the wee hours of this morning since the venue is easily an hour away and we heard traffic afterwards could be brutal. BUT since I was anticipating having a wonderful time at the show I tried to just focus on the band/music/performance and block all the rest of it out.  Looking forward to: ...
