My Skincare and Make-Up Routine

I was almost afraid to write this post for tomorrow's Not Just a Mom link up as I don't really have much of a skincare routine.

Most days when I wake up, I use hot water and Lightfoot's Pine Soap on my face to give it a quick washing then I just style my hair and I'm good to go.  I don't even wear makeup 95% of the time.

If I'm feeling like it I might put on makeup-- I always start with Covergirl's Simply Powder foundation.  It goes on like a powder and covers like a liquid.

I follow that up with some Cheekers blush (also by Cover girl)

Usually a lip balm or very light lipstick of some sort.

Then finally I might put on eye shadow.  I like any sort of pack that has several shades I can combine.  Using the lightest color on my whole lid, one medium tone on the bottom, and a dark tone just at the very corner of my eye.

In the evening if I'm not having a shower I use that same soap and hot water to wash my face.  If I'm having a shower I use either apricot facial scrub or a Vitamin C cleanser to wash the makeup and grime off from my day.

Once or twice a year I might use moisturizer (usually in the summer since my moisturizer has an SPF in it but more often than not I try to sit in the shade) or toner (I love the spray from Pure Haven) but I am pretty awful at remembering to do this as any sort of a routine.

  1. I'd say whatever you are doing is working!! You have a lovely, creamy complexion. And don't need makeup. I just inherited some pretty eye shadow palettes from my daughter who has extremely sensitive skin. I buy very little makeup and doesn't use it much myself. Especially now with masks!!

    1. I used to spend so much more time (before kids) on my beauty routine but found it just naturally streamlined itself as I got busier.

    1. It is really helpful to have multiple shades that go together.

  6. I probably put on makeup twice a year and I just wash my face with warm/hot water in the shower! Probably should do more...

    1. That's how I felt; I know so many people have a whole skincare regime and I feel like I should be doing more (but I know I won't).

  7. I like your skin care routine! It is simple and easy and you are so beautiful with such great skin that you don't need to wear too much makeup anyway. I don't have much of a routine either except I wash my face in the shower every morning and I use makeup wipes at bedtime. I only moisturize once or twice a week or else I get too oily. I do wear a full face of makeup everyday though. But only because it makes me feel good! And I usually go for Cover Girl and Loreal for most of my products. Thanks for sharing and linking up!

    1. I find I go through seasons where I wear make-up almost daily and other seasons where I just don't even think of it!
