Encouraging Hearts and Home-- Keeping Real Busy

I keep telling my husband I don't know how these public school parents do it!  I have been so spoiled for the past 8 or so years that our days are busy and full and our nights are nice and quiet.  Now just two weeks into having one son in public school & we have activities on three nights; a new karate class & 2 nights of driver's ed.  Trying to juggle homework, cooking & meals, and who's driving whom where and when is making my feel so hurried and disorganized.  I know we'll adjust fine but wow it has really shown us just how nice, quiet, and simple our lives were.

And Now, for This Week's Encouraging Hearts & Home Blog Hop!

Join your Encouraging Hearts & Home Co-Hosts each week for encouragement and support for your heart & your home. We hope to provide a space that builds each other up and lends a helping hand along the way. With all the negativity in the world, let's shine a positive light!

  1. I know how you feel- I think it takes at least two weeks to find a rhythm and get into a routine but those first couple of weeks are exhausting- hang in there Mama!

    1. I have been asleep by 8:30/9:00 every single night this week! I just know that as soon as we find a good routine it's all going to change again (literally; as Alec switches to distance learning in another week).

  5. We experienced the same thing: the more involved we became with public school, the less control we had over our time. For us, it was worth it!

  7. The mosaic table looks amazing! While I've never been a homeschool mom, but I too admire how working moms juggle it all! I worked very part time for most of time being a mom, until I became a full time stay at home parent.

    1. He really is adjusting so well; I was rather surprised since he's such a night owl and tend to like sleeping late but he is up at 5 and all ready to go waiting for me each day.

  11. My son that is a junior has been begging to do online school since that is an option. He said he’ll have so much more time to get everything done since he has a job and activities after school. Just not sure I’m on board with that as of right now.

    1. I think it really depends on the school; a few around here require kids to log in for each class all day long and others are allowing kids to finish up their work rather quickly and have a good 1/2 day to themselves.
