The Feels in July
Wow! July just flew right by in the blink of an eye. Between our 4th of July weekend, my birthday (week long) celebration, and our overnight trip to Maine we had a fabulous month!
Today, I'm linking up with X-tremely V for The Feels and though the questions are the same each month the answers are always different since they're based only on our current month.
Favorite Moment: Oh boys we had so many I'm not sure I could pinpoint one!.. Maybe when my husband surprised me with flowers for my birthday? He so rarely thinks to buy flowers for any reason that when he does they feel extra special.

Favorite Meal-- We had so many great ones this month-- even eating out in 4 or 5 restaurants! But my favorite meal had to be my birthday dinner. My husband grilled up rib eye steaks and we had corn on the cob, squash casserole, baked potatoes, and salad topped off with Alec's triple cheesecake cups. YUM!
Favorite Movie/ TV Show/ Book--
Movie: Book Club-- I re-watched it this month after Shelbee mentioned it on her blog and I had forgotten how much I enjoyed this movie!
Tv Show: Outer Banks. I had started watching this last month but decided to wait and watch the whole series with my husband. We both enjoyed it so much and watched all 10 episodes in just under a week.
Book: This is such a tough one. I read 10 books this month (you can read about them here) and they were all pretty good but I guess if I had to pick just one favorite I'd say The Giver of Stars.
Favorite Activity: Shopping! I spent a day at the Wrethem Outlets with my mom picking out my own birthday gifts and a good portion of our two day trip to Maine shopping too. I just can not resist end of the season sales!
Favorite Moment: Oh boys we had so many I'm not sure I could pinpoint one!.. Maybe when my husband surprised me with flowers for my birthday? He so rarely thinks to buy flowers for any reason that when he does they feel extra special.
Goal for August: Get Alec all squared away for school and help Ian prepare for his learner's permit, possibly take a short family trip if time and finances allow.
Anything else that made July feel good: We saw so much of our family and friends this month. Between a two day long 4th of July celebration, my birthday, a friend's party, and karate starting back up. It was wonderful.
How was your month?

DeleteLove the shots of Bean's! They do have some great sales.
ReplyDeleteWe hit some really amazing sales!
DeleteI started watching Outer Banks but didn't really get into it!
ReplyDeleteIt took us a good 2-3 episodes but we really liked it a lot; even if it was a bit far fetched at times.
DeleteThat cheesecake dessert looks amazing. I have read a JoJo Moyes book from years ago but I can't remember the title. I will need to go back and look.
ReplyDeleteThank you for brightening my Monday morning. :)
You're welcome!
DeleteSounds like a great month, which always does make the time go by fast! I have never seen Outer Banks, so I may have to check that out for my next show.
ReplyDeleteYes, time really does fly when you're having fun.
DeleteThat cheesecake though, drooling over here. Also, I loved Book Club. I've seen it a few times and I love each actress for something new every time I see it. I'll watch Jane Fonda in anything! Sounds like you had an awesome month! I feel like every month since March has been over in a flash.
ReplyDeleteI really like all 4 leading ladies in Book Club and find that I too am picking up on new things this time around.
DeleteIt sounds like you really did have a fabulous month.
ReplyDeleteYour favourite meal sounds so good. Happy belated birthday to you. x
Thank you!
DeleteThat sounds like a good birthday dinner! Mine is at the end of August, I can ask Gerben to make the same! Lol. Great acties in that movie, akways loved Candice Bergen.
ReplyDeleteThe recipe will be up on the blog this weekend!
DeleteSo glad you had a wonderful July with such fun activities! Your birthday dessert looks delicious! I had german strawberry cake for my birthday a couple of weeks ago, but I was the one making it :)
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of german strawberry cake but that sounds good too. I used to be the one making all the desserts (mine included) and now it's almost always Alec.
DeleteI had to wait over a month for my husband to watch it with me and then once we started it he really seemed to enjoy it even more than me!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a nice July! The cheese cake bites look really good and pretty flowers. I want to watch Outer Banks too as my daughter recommended that one. I can't believe how fast July flew by! Thanks for the blog visit and have a nice day and week!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how fast it flew by either.
DeleteI can't believe that July is almost over either. So fast! I'm currently reading The Giver of Stars right now. I've got about 100 pages to go and can't wait to see what happens next with Margery and her baby.
ReplyDeleteIt was such a great story!
DeleteYou have an LL Bean outlet? I am sooo jealous. My husband watched Outer Banks now I feel like I should watch it. That cheesecake bite looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteNope but there is an LL Bean outlet in Maine-- pretty much the whole reason why we picked the town we stayed in!
DeleteOh my gosh I love the book club movie and also loved Outer Banks - can't believe how quickly July flew by! xo, Biana
ReplyDeleteI know! I feel like I blinked and it's over.
DeleteB and I loved Outer Banks, too. We binged it in less than a week! I can't wait for season 2 although it'll be a while, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it took us much longer than a week either. I can't wait to see how season 2 goes.
DeleteSuch a fun month of favorites! I too have been watching old movies that I had forgotten about. One of which is Bird on a wire with Goldie Hawn and Mel Gibson. Your shopping trip looked super fun too! I would love to have you come and link up to my Centerpiece Wednesday Linky Party and share your post with us https://karinskottage.com/2020/07/centerpiece-wednesday-party-time.html
ReplyDeleteKarin
Oh I loved Bird on a Wire! I had forgotten all about that one.
DeleteHave just downloaded and started The Give of Stars. Can't wait to get into it. Glad to know you loved it. Haven't watched The Book Club but will remedy that soon. The cheesecake cups look a-mazing. My compliments to the chef.
ReplyDeleteOh you have to see The Book Club! It's so funny (free with Amazon prime right now too).
