Wellness Weekend: Mind Exercises

I'm kind of bummed that it's been another month and my weight hasn't budged at all since last month's wellness weekend!  However, I know I have been much better about tracking my foods and earning my blue dots on Weight Watchers and I know that as long as I keep focusing on that results will follow.

I only have 4 lbs or so to shed and that's not too shabby.  Especially when I remember that I have lost (and kept off!) 31 lbs.  It could be so much worse.  Besides I know I still look pretty darn cute!

I'm still struggling along in mild to moderate pain waiting for a scheduled surgery date and I am so hopeful that once it is behind me I'll be feeling so great I won't keep backsliding to eating such junk!  That would really help.

Now that the sunny summery weather is here we're spending a lot more time outside and a lot more time with friends and family and keeping busy is a huge boost to my menal health!

Speaking of my mental state.. that's sort of touching on today's topic.  This month for our wellness weekend, we're focusing on mind exercises and while I admit that I don't often think of keeping my mind as sharp as I should I do like to work on puzzles and play card games; both things that have been shown to boost brain activity.

Here is the last puzzle I worked on:  it was really challenging too.

  2. Do you have a surgery date or is it still pending with the coronavirus? I know our state is just now back to scheduling elective surgeries now. What a time we are living in. Sigh.

    1. Still pending.. he told me his best guess is going to be early fall as long as things keep opening up on schedule and we don't have any more delays.

    1. I know how to get it back down... but I've lost some of my motivation to just do it.

  4. Good for you for coming soooo close to your weight loss goal. I think you look great! That jugsaw puzzle looks amazing! It would take me months to complete. I have started doing Sudoku puzzles and liking them. They are good brain exercise (I hope!).

    1. Thank you! I am so so close (though I was only .5 lbs away pre-pandemic!). LOL. I am quite happy with how I look too so I'm not stressing over it. I just want to reach it since I set a goal to do that. Plus I have a bet going with my husband that I want to win. LOL. I enjoy Sudoku puzzles too; I like most any kind of puzzle because I do like that challenge.

  5. I love the jigsaw. I think it would look good in a picture frame.

  6. I am sorry you are still in pain and not certain when your surgery will take place. But so proud of your good work on losing weight and maintaining your darling figure. You certainly are pretty darn cute!! Love that top. I just ordered a floral one with a similar ruffled neckline. Hope it will be as cute as yours.

That puzzle could be a photo or painting of the balloon fest in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The sky just blooms with hot air balloons of all colors, shapes and themes. I am sure that was quite a challenge. Every night I swear I am going to work on my puzzle and then...I sit down and don't do it. Think I might be a little bit depressed. Can't get too interested in doing anything.

    1. I've always wanted to see the balloon fest in NM! There is a local and much smaller one in Rhode Island but we've never made it there yet either. I definitely feel pretty blah most days lately and I do think it's this feeling of isolation that weighing me down.
