Happy 8 Years to Me!

Exactly 8 years ago today I began my blog.  I had no idea when I began blogging that I would stick with it nearly as long as I have.  I had no idea how much I would love it and how many "friends" I'd meet through blogging.

My blog has evolved so much over the years!  I first began blogging using each day as a diary of sorts (without pictures!) to keep track of our homeschooling life.  I didn't want my kids photos and lives on display for all to see but I wanted something to look back on so I could see how homeschooling was going.

In no time I began to realize that posts without photos are pretty boring so I began adding at least 1 or 2 in each post.  Now I feel like my posts are filled with photos!

I've started blogging more about life in general and a whole lot less about homeschooling.  I think that's mostly due to the fact that I feel prety confident in what we're doing now but also because when my kids were little we spent so much of our days going on field trips, working on fun projects, and finding ways to make learning as hands on as possible.

With all middle and high schoolers now we rely a lot more on bookwork and on-line lessons which just aren't as fun to write about.  My boys also are a bit pickier about what I can and can't share online and I get that.

In honor of 8 years worth of blog posts I thought I'd share some of my favorite pictures from way back when..

I just love seeing how small they were and how much fun we had with all our schooling!

It has been a great 8 years!  Thank you so much for those of your that read, comment, and share my blog.  It really means a lot to me to be a part of such a large and welcoming community.

  2. Congratulations!! I am thankful to have come across your blog and to have followed your adventures in life and mothering and homeschooling. I have always thought that the education you have given your sons has prepared them better than anything I have encountered in public education. Well done!

Love the throw back photos of the boys.

  7. Happy 8 years of blogging! I don’t think many of us ever realize how long we will be in it when we start these blogs, but they become so much a part of our lives that we can’t imagine life without it. Cheers to many more successful years of blogging!
