The National Parks I Want to Visit Most

I read a book last summer called Dear Bob and Sue that this couple wrote based on their experiences visiting all the national parks.   I had never really thought about making it a goal to visit them all and while I still think there are a few I would skip, the book did get me pretty excited about visiting the different National parks.

We visited the Badlands while on our vacation to South Dakota last year and I began to think of which  parks I REALLY want to visit.  Wind Cave had been on our list but was shut down while we were there since the elevators were broken.  Maybe we'll make it back there one day.

Other parks I'd like to visit include:

1.  The Everglades (Florida)

2.  Yellowstone (Wyoming, Montana, Idaho)

3.  Bryce Canyon (Utah)

4.  Acadia (Maine)

5. Zion (Utah)

6.  Virgin Islands

7.  Yosemite (California)

8.  Sequoia (California)

9.  Haleakala (Hawaii)

10.  Arches (Utah)

11.  Great Smoky Mountains (North Carolina & Tennessee)

12.  Grand Canyon (Arizona)

13.  Biscayne (Florida)

14.  Dry Tortugas (Florida)

Have you ever visited any of the National Parks?  Do you have some you hope to visit?

  1. There are so many of these I want to visit too. We have only visited the Smoky Mountains.
You really need to watch Traveling Robert on YouTube. He has a goal to visit all of the state parks as well and shares his adventures. Every time I watch him, I feel like I actually visited the place he was visiting. In these times, that is more important than ever.

I was stunned to see the size of a very large tree in Sequoia (California) !.

  10. I hope you get a chance to see all the parks on your list. I have most of them on mine! I have been to Acadia, Great Smoky Mountains and Grand Canyon. All three are worth going to see. I loved Big Bend National Park and Carlsbad Canyons NP was really amazing. I would say don't go out of your way to see Guadalupe Mountains NP. It's nice but not a "must-see" like some of the others.

  15. I've been to a few of the parks on your list - Yellowstone, Arches, and Everglades are particularly beautiful in very different ways! And some of the ones you listed are on my To-See list too. My husband and I have been talking about going to Dry Tortugas for several years, and really want to do the overnight stay before we get much older (and stiffer! LOL) Thanks for joining in!

    1. I was thinking of trying to do both those parks in one trip! Fly into Miami, drive around the Everglads and then down to the keys for a few days.... I'm not sure if he'd agree though.

  16. What a great post! National Parks are such great destinations! I have never thought to make it a goal to visit all of them, but that sounds like a super fun idea. I have only been to Acadia in Maine, Yosemite in California (my honeymoon), and the Great Smoky Mountains in both North Carolina and Tennessee. All are beautiful! Thanks for sharing your list and linking up with me.
