Decorating A Tray for Summer Using the Cricut
Today I am linking up with some fellow bloggers to bring you some wonderful outdoor decor and entertaining ideas.
Living right on the lake with a beautiful walk out basement and a rather large patio we find ourselves entertaining almost weekly! So I thought it would be a great idea to try and find a plain tray that I could decorating using my Cricut.
I found this adorable FREE SVG print and sized it to fit my tray. I did alter a few of the colors to suit our decor and the vinyl I had on hand then cut it out using my Cricut.
I weeded each layer and used transfer tape to get each layer right where I wanted it on my tray.
Isn't it cute?!
Now this tray isn't waterproof so I didn't worry too much about my vinyl being washable either; I figure I can use the tray to hold items like my book, camera, and portable house phone that I always take outside with me.
Make sure you stop by to see what my fellow co-hosts are sharing today!

OMG I LOVE this!! So pretty. I have heard about the cricut but have never tried one yet!
ReplyDeleteThank you! My husband bought me a Cricut Maker a few years back and while I was so intimidated at first I am slowly using it more and more and trying out new crafts and projects. It's a lot of fun.
DeleteYour tray looks great, Joanne. It's perfect for summer entertaining!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteLove the decal you chose for updating your tray! Looks pretty and quite summery! The Cricut is quite handy for projects!
ReplyDeleteI was so surprised to find such a cute one that was free for use. The Cricut is quite handy for sure.
DeleteThis tray is absolutely adorable and screams summer. You've inspired me to make something similar for my patio.

DeleteTrays are so versatile and I love how this one turned out! I am hoping to get a Cricut machine someday! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThey definitely are. I try to keep a variety of trays on hand for anytime we entertain.

Thank you! I swapped a few of the original colors out so the tray would blend better with our decor and so I could use vinyl I already had on hand.
DeleteThat is so cute! I've always been curious about those Cricuts. This is something I could totally see me doing.
ReplyDeleteThey are so fun and so versatile!
DeleteThis is fab - so clever! :) #MMBC
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteIf I had an office or craft room I would grab up a Cricut and make all the cute things! You did a great job!

Thank you!
DeleteI love your pretty tray you made. I don't think i'm tech savy enough to use one of those machines but you can make so many things with them. Great job and perfect for the summer.
ReplyDeleteIt definitely took practice and watching a lot more videos than I would normally bother with to figure out how to use it (and honestly I often have to Google a few things each time while using it too!). I struggle with getting it to work the way I want it to but thankfully I have always figured it out in the end.
DeleteWhat a lovely idea! I really need to buy myself a circuit machine. If only I had some space...
ReplyDeleteI find the machine itself isn't so bad but I'm feeling like I am slowly getting overrun with vinyl and tools and mats!
DeleteThe design you chose is so cute and it looks great on your tray! Good choice changing the brown to the pretty blue. So happy to join your facebook group! Pinned.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the compliment and the pin.
DeleteThis tray is so cute and perfect for summer time fun in the sun! I love the colors and the ice cream.
ReplyDeleteNothing screams summer quite like ice cream.
DeleteWhat a darling tray! I think we are all ready for Sweet Summer Time! -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures
ReplyDeleteThank you! I know I sure am; we just spent our day pulling out patio and deck furniture yesterday. I am hopeful the nice weather in our forecast will actually make it our way soon.
DeleteThis is sweet, what a lovely design. You can always pop a pretty coaster on your tray for a drink if the tray is not waterproof can't you?
ReplyDeleteVery true! We could use coasters.
