Shows & Movies I'm Streaming

I have been watching a bit more TV than usual these days; haven't we all?  Now we do have lots of streaming option but I tend to really only watch shows on Hulu and sometimes Netflix. I thought I'd put together a list of all the shows I'm watching right now.

1.  Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist --  I mentioned this was new favorite show with my March Feels and just love it!  I really wasn't sure at all about watching a show where the characters randomly burst into song but it works with the story line and I eagerly await each new episode.  It doesn't hurt that I like and know almost every song they've ever used either. (Hulu)

2.  Baby Daddy-- When Ben unexpectedly finds his baby daughter on his doorstep with a note he steps up to the plate and with the help of his mother, brother, and two best friends tries his best to be a single working dad.  (Hulu)

3.  Perfect Harmony-- Arthur used to be a professor of music at Princeton university and finds himself directing a musical choir in a small town in Kentucky.  He's recently been widowed, is quite surly,  and while he is a self- proclaimed atheist somehow finds himself making friends with this unlikely cast of characters.  It's musical, witty, and fun and while there is only one season out I thought it was very cute. (Hulu).

4. Indebted-- Dave and Rebecca end up taking in Dave's parents to live with them when they discover that his parents are broke.  It's a cute sit-com and pretty funny because Dave's parents aren't' exactly known for respecting boundaries. (Hulu)

5. Outmatched-- Two ordinary parents trying to raise 4 children; three of whom are geniuses.  They are often bewildered by their children and feel outmatched when it comes to any sort of battle of wits.  (Hulu)

6.  Little Fires Everywhere-- I read this book recently and knew I had to watch the Hulu original series based on it.  While the storyline is not exact, it's pretty close and while I can't say I LOVE the show I just can not seem to stop watching it.

7.  No Tomorrow-- When Evie meets Xavier, she's incredibly attracted to him despite the fact that he thinks the world is going to end in just a few short months and therefor doesn't have a job and spends his days trying to complete every single zany thing on his bucket list.  (Netflix)

8.  That 70's Show-- My husband and I used to watch this show years ago and I thought it was worth a re-watch. Eric and his friends are high school teens growing up in the 70's in Wisconsin.  (Netflix)

9.  Good Girls-- I just can not look away from this train wreck!  Three moms team up to rob the local grocery store to solve thier financial problems only to find that they now have even more problems. 1. they were recognized by one of the workers 2. the store was in debt to some drug dealers and now they want their money back 3. their home lives are falling apart... if you've enjoyed Breaking Bad or Weeds I think you'd like this too. (Netflix)

10.  Where'd You Go, Bernadette?-- I read the book this month and wanted to watch the movie version.  I didn't love either the book or the movie but they were cute and quirky.  Bernadette was an acclaimed architect before becoming a wife and mother and somewhere along the way she's lost herself.  It's not until her husband has an intervention to have her committed that Bernadette decides to run away... and in doing so finds herself once more.  (Hulu)

11.  All the Bright Places-- I had just started reading this book when I decided to watch the movie... and boy I had no idea it was going to be such a sad movie!  Two high school teens; one dealing with her sister's death and the other dealing with undiagnosed bi-polar disorder become friends.  They team up on a school project to wander their state looking for points of interest.  They fall in love but soon realize that sometimes love just isn't enough.  (Netflix)

12.  New Girl-- I have been watching this show off and on for a few months.  Jess ends up moving in to a loft with three single guys after a really horrible break up. She's pretty quirky and while they often end up clashing they do become pretty great friends.  (Netflix)

13.  Life in Pieces -- I have watched this show a few times in the past but was thrilled to see season 4 on Hulu!  Each episode is made up of short stories dealing with different family members and it's hilarious.

14. Self- Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam C.J. Walker-- I'm only on episode two and so far I am in awe of this woman.  CJ Walker was the first black, self- made, female millionaire in the United States.

15. The Big Show Show-- WWE Wrestler "Big Show" has retired and his oldest daughter is moving in with him, his wife and their two children.  Struggling to parent three girls in their Florida community often finds him out of his league.  Another cute family sit- com.

I only listed the "newer" shows I'm watching as we've still been watching any of our old favorites as new episodes are released… shows like:  The Goldbergs, Last Man Standing, Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewife, 9-1-1, etc.

What have you been watching?

    1. I'm a few behind too. I noticed the other day Hulu added Big Little Lies and since I was only able to watch season 1 with our free trial of HBO I've started watching season 2.

    1. I'm pretty sure my boys and I watched the National parks series.. maybe not all of them but I know we've watched a few. It's a great way to explore them. I'll have to look into that John Adams one; I haven't heard of it before.

  11. Hi - Thanks for sharing your recommendations. My, you've been busy watching t.v.! My husband and I loved watching "Wish Man" on Netflix. It is a true story and you'll see why it's so important when you read the epilogue at the end! - Angie, www.yourtrueselfblog.com

  12. Great watch list! I really enjoyed Little Fires Everywhere, but I never read the book. And All the Bright Places was such a great movie. Gosh, I cried so hard, but the message is an important one and I think they did a wonderful job addressing mental heath issues in teens. That 70’s Show is one of my favorites! Thanks for sharing and linking up.
