The Best Compliments

I thought this week's topic for the 26 lists was a rather fun one.  I had to think pretty long and hard though as I don't often pay attention to compliments.  In fact, I'm one of those annoying people that usually downplay and counteract a compliment. I'm trying to get better about just smiling and saying thank you but it's hard.

I finally came up with a list of the compliments I hear most often that always make me smile.

1.  Have you lost weight?

2. You look fantastic!

3.  Your boys are so well behaved (or kind or smart or any compliment about my kids).

4.  You're so talented.

5.  This is delicious!

6.  You're so organized!

7.  You're such a fun mom.

8.  You have a beautiful home.

9.  I love your outfit (dress/ shoes/ earrings-- whatever!)

10.  You and your husband are so cute together, always holding hands (this one was said to me YEARS ago an I still remember it and it makes me smile).

  5. I have trouble accepting compliments graciously too. Why do we downplay it?

Isn't it interesting how that one compliment from many years ago sticks with you? I have a couple of specific compliments from long, long ago that I remember and still make me feel so good. Thanks for linking up with me!
