Friday Favorites: The Week We Went Bowling with Friends

We planned to shorten up our schoolwork each day because many of our friends were out on February vacation and we had lots of plans... well maybe not LOTS of plans but some sort of plans each day.

We had a bit of schoolwork planned for Friday even though it was Valentine's day.  We are trying so hard to stay on track with our schoolwork in order to finish up our school year in May.  Alec put together a 3-layer white chocolate raspberry cake for us after dinner; it was amazing and I shared the recipe on Wednesday.

I spent most of my day on Saturday working on the blog, fixing up a few cards, and finishing my last two scrapbooking pages.  Then I realized it was time for me to upload and order more pictures.

I watched a movie while making a few more cards on Sunday (I'll plan a full post with all 10 cards I made soon!) and then my husband and I headed out for an afternoon of shopping and dinner out at Texas Roadhouse.  We bought some hiking clothes at LL Bean and we both bought some new pants.  I needed some size 8 jeans-- 8!!

This wool sweater was on clearance for $25 from LL bean (regularly $89!)

We had a short day of school planned for Monday and I quickly threw my favorite WW lasagna recipe into the crock pot (the only difference is I put the layers in a crock pot; breaking the noodles as needed to make them fit and then turn it on low for 6 or so hours until the cheese is melted).  We were meeting friends of ours at the bowling alley for lunch and a game of bowling.

After bowling we headed to our local Dunkin Donuts and hung out for another few hours!  It was a fun afternoon filled with silliness.

Alec had karate on Tuesday and we had to buy him his new uniform all trimmed in red. I spent part of my day Wednesday sewing his new patches on.

Ian had a friend coming over Wednesday so we had another light day of schooling. We started Ian's new Chemistry book and so far we are enjoying it much better than the other series we were using; only problem is I don't have the teacher's manual to know the answers!

I had a hair appointment on Thursday and spent part of my morning on the phone with the doctor's office so we had another light day of schooling.  I love how curly my hair gets after a trim!

  8. Awesome week. Congrats on size 8! I haven't seen that size in 10 years in pants. I just made it into a size 8 dress! I miss bowling. We should do that.

    1. I'm awful at it too but will play occasionally. This particular day only the kids were playing and the place we play (most other bowling alleys now too) has bumpers that you can program to come up automatically when it's your turn and it keeps the balls out of the gutter. Evan requested no bumpers and all 5 of the other kids used them.... no matter their age. They just wanted to have fun.
