My Winter Bucket List

With the excitement of Christmas coming to an end it's time to turn our attention to winter fun.  I always struggle a bit more with this because I don't often find winter to be all that fun.  It's cold, it's often wet, and judging by our December so far it's going to be pretty snowy too!  However, I like to be intentional about keeping family fun on our minds so without further ado here are a few things we're hoping to do this winter.

1.  Try out our new snowshoes!

2.  Go to the movies.

3.  Make up a few new recipes from the Harry Potter cookbook.

4.  Host at least two get togethers with our friends.

5.  Have a mini movie marathon one afternoon complete with themed snacks.

6.  Put together another family puzzle

7.  Read a book together

8.  Go sledding

9. Have a family board game night

10.  Attend an art/ craft class

11.  Go to Florida for our family vacation!

12.  Try a few new soup/ casserole recipes to keep us warm.

  1. I can’t wait to read about your snowshoeing adventures! Also I meant to comment about it on the other post, but I love that you put puzzles together as a family. I have tried to start a few, but the kids are too young, and a piece always goes missing. And it’s too risky to put together the whole puzzle and have one piece missing at the end. I either have to have a space that’s set away from the kids, or I just have to wait until they get older.

I hadn’t heard of the Harry Potter recipe book, what is your favorite one from there so far?

    1. We've only tried one recipe from the cookbook so far; it was for hot cocoa and we weren't impressed with it. Alec really wants to try out a tart recipe though so that's probably what we'll attempt next. It's only been the last year or so that the boys have helped with putting puzzles together. I really hate when I put one together and we're missing a piece!

  2. I love this list. I might have to steal some of these ideas. We got a new cookbook too and need to make some of the recipes.

  3. I adore this.
I need to create a winter bucket list because I hate winter and I think it will help me hate it less HA.

Side note, I used to be following you on Bloglovin but I think it was under a different blog name? I think I am going crazy. Anyway, I am now following this blog again! :)

    1. Oh shoot; yes I did switch blog names in November and totally forgot about Bloglovin'-- oops!. Thanks for following again! :) I hopefully won't have to change anything anytime soon as I am still finding all sorts of loose ends to tie up still.

    1. We used to travel to Fla. each February and it was so nice to get away... though I never wanted to come back home after a week. A few years it made winter seem so much longer after that warm flip flop weather we enjoyed so much.

  9. Great list. Wish I had snow to merit snowshoes!! We did by saucers to sled the one day we were up in the mountains for some snow.
Anxious to see what you guys prepare from the HP cookbook.
Great minds...we are going to listen to a book together. My husband just doesn't know yet. But we have done it before and really enjoyed it.
    Love the snow photo.

    1. Ever since we got our snowshoes we haven't had any snow so we haven't got to try them out... yet.

    1. I try to make the best of it; but I have been joking that once we head to Florida for our vacation next month they might have a very hard time getting me back on that plane home.
