A Sentence a Day In May

Even though it was a pretty cloudy and cold month we had a great time!  We got out of the house on lots and lots of hikes.  Anytime the sun did shine we made sure to be out there and soak up as much heat and sun as we could.



1.  The boys and I went on a hike checking out a new trail.




2.  The younger boys and I went to check out a new museum; the Tomaquag Museum


3.  We hiked Purgatory Chasm just before the skies clouded over and began raining.



4.  I made a few homemade cards and did all the laundry in the house.

5.  We went to see Avengers End Game.

6.  The boys and I went hiking at Moore State park; a totally new to us spot to hike.




7.  It was a busy day with karate, summer clothing shopping, homeschool roller skating, and grocery shopping.


8.  We made strawberry cheesecake yogurt pops and went hiking on the airline trails




9.  We went for a walk on the river trail and ran some errands late in the afternoon.


10.  We worked on lots of science experiments and I went through all the new (free!) scrapbooking supplies I was gifted.




11.  I ran a few errands in the morning and then helped Alec made some raspberry truffle brownies.



12.  My boys spoiled me rotten on Mother's day buying me many wonderful gifts, making me waffles and bacon for breakfast and cooking up dinner for me, my mom, and my mother- in- law.

13.  We worked on making airplanes three different ways and made it out for a short hike before the rains came!


14.  It was a very cold and rainy day (in the 40's!!) so we stayed inside and I worked on my blog most of the afternoon.

15.  We went hiking at an Audubon society property in Worcester; we hadn't been back to check out the trails since we went snowshoeing in the winter and we really wanted to check them out in the spring.




16.  We drove up to check out Garden in the Woods, something that has been on my bucket list for ages!




17.  We met up with some friends of ours for a quick hike at Pulaski park before it began to rain.



18.  After helping my husband out at work all morning the whole family headed to Texas Roadhouse and went to check out the nearest Whole Foods market.

19.  Once the sun came out in the afternoon, I worked on the garden putting out all our decorations and then we all went on a really long walk through the woods and along the road.



20.  It was near 80 and the boys and I rushed through our schoolwork so we could spent a good portion of our afternoon kayaking around the lake.




21.  After karate and running errands the boys went to the roller rink for one of the last homeschool skate sessions of the school year.

22.  We planted some herbs and went shopping for flowers to place in pots around the yard.




23.  It was a cold cloudy day and I got over 10 scrapbooking pages done one the boys finished up their schoolwork for the day (all 10 will be shown together in a post coming soon).

24.  We went hiking at Green Falls Pond and enjoyed a really stunning hike in the warm, sunny weather.





25.  My husband and I headed out for a three day weekend away at Loon Mountain; we checked into our hotel and headed out hiking around the Lost River Gorge and Boulder Caves.





26.  As soon as we finished breakfast we headed for the Flume Gorge and rode the tram to the top of Cannon Mountain then we finished our night off with a round of mini golf at Hobo Railroad.





27.  We made one last stop in New Hampshire to check out the Polar Caves before heading home to the boys.




28.  I took Ian and Evan hiking with me at Old Furnace State park while Alec went to his karate class.



29.  It was pretty cold and cloudy out but we decided to chance it and headed out for a short walk through Quaddick state park.



30.  Ian, Evan and I all had dentist appointments and had great check-ups with no cavities.

31.  We went to Fort Trumbull and Harkness Memorial State park.

  1. Scrolling through this lovely post makes me realize what a great reflective practice it would be to write a sentence a day and then go back at the end of the month to remember it all. Life goes by so fast!

  6. I love to see kids spending so much time outside! Once our weather stops being bipolar, I want to get my kids out! Right when I think it's going to be a nice day, it starts storming...EVERY SINGLE DAY! ack!
