Encouraging Hearts and Home-- First Week of May

I'm hoping now that May is here we might get a bit more sunshine and a tad less rain.  I read somewhere that it rained more than 20 days this month!  We can see that the water is high in all the lakes and rivers and while I know we need rain I am really missing those warm sunny days of spring.  Hopefully, we'll have them soon and we'll start to see things blooming as the weather warms up.

Favorite TV Shows Growing Up in the 80's and early 90's

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. And through the years I had SO MANY favorites! Dollar Store Candy Cane Wreath

Today I am linking up with some fellow bloggers for a Dollar Store craft challenge.  I don't often participate in these challenges since I try to stay away from our local Dollar Stores; I find they can be quite dangerous for me!  I knew this was the perfect time to find some inexpensive holiday decorations though and I just LOVE how my wreath turned out!  I hope you stop by and see what the other hosts are sharing. Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. What's Up Wednesday in November

It's the last Wednesday of the month and that means it's time for What's Up Wednesday. This will be my last post of the month but I'll be back on Monday the 2nd with some of my favorite Prime Purchases of the year.  What We're Eating: Sunday: Steak (and tofu) stir-fry over rice Monday: Weight Watcher's American Chop Suey  with salad Tuesday: Crock pot Philly cheesesteak grinders with chips and salad Wednesday: Pumpkin pancakes with fruit and bacon Thursday: Our menu hasn't changed since 2020..Though we will sub out the crescent rolls for some homemade bread/rolls that Alec's cooking up for us.  Friday: Leftover turkey pie Saturday: One of our favorite soup recipes; though I'm not sure which one yet! It's the second Monday of the month which means it's time for the Share Our lives link up. This month for the Share Our Lives link up we're sharing where we like to shop. I struggled a bit with this prompt since it's so open ended. I thought I'd list my "top 3" stores in various categories. inside our local Market Basket Groceries: Market Basket Price Chopper Stop and Shop For Gifts: Amazon (free shipping to family that lives far away is fabulous!)
