Virtual Refrigerator-- Oshawott Drawing

Hi and welcome back to the Virtual Refrigerator!  We're so happy to have you stopping by today and hope you'll link up with us.  We have a fun little drawing to share with you today.

I asked Alec if he'd like to try out our new chalk pastel pencils and perhaps draw an animal or something with me.  He brought over his Pokémon book and asked if we could draw a simple Pokémon like Oshawott.  I reluctantly agreed to give it my best shot.

It's rare for me to sit and do art with my boys now that they're older.  They often resist any of suggestions for art and when they are feeling creative they tend to prefer to work alone.

We had fun drawing together and really enjoyed our new chalk pastel pencils.  They work just like chalk pastels but with the fine tip are easier to control and we both agree that we prefer the feel of the pencil against our fingers rather than the dry feel of the chalk.

They came out pretty cute.

Now without further ado I invite you to grab a "magnet" and link up your arts and crafts posts below and visit some other bloggers to see what they shared on their refrigerators.

Your art project doesn't need to be a stand alone post, nor does it need to be a tutorial.  We love day in the life posts or homeschooling wrap- ups that show art work too!

So what do you have to share with us?

  1. They did turn out great! I didn't know chalk pastels were available in pencils, and I think I should look into getting some for my daughter. :-)

    1. We liked them so much better than traditional chalk pastels but I need to see if they come in a wider variety of colors than the set we picked out.
