Sentence a Day- December

Happy 2019!  I hope the New Year finds you in good health and treats you well.  Before looking forward to the new year I have one last look back at 2018.  Here is how our December went.. one sentence at a time.



1.  The younger boys and I kicked off the first day of the month with our advent activity; baking cookies!


2. I wrapped up all the Christmas gifts we had purchased so far while watching The Holiday; one of my all time favorite Christmas movies.


3.  We went to the movies with some friends of ours to see The Grinch; we loved this new version so much better than the others.


4.  We made a log cabin gingerbread house!


5.  The boys and I went to the Yankee Candle Flagship store and spent a fun morning enjoying all their fabulous displays and wonderful smelling candles.




6.  We made homemade marshmallows (recipe coming this month!).


7.  We went to our friend's house and watched them make beeswax candles.



8.  Family movie night-- we had a double feature with both Christmas with the Cranks and Home Alone!


9.  We finished the base for our basement cabinets and we're ready to move onto doors and drawers.



10.  The boys' started a new winter themed puzzle and I deep cleaned the bathroom.



11. We made homemade egg free eggnog!



12.  I finished up all my wrapping and threw together a crock pot lasagna for dinner. 


13.  We went to tour one of the Newport Mansions (The Elms) all decorated for Christmas.




14.  The boys and I decided to put the schoolbooks aside for the day and enjoyed some homemade peppermint milkshakes while watching The Santa Clause.



15.  We had a Christmas party with my in-laws and family!


16.  We went to see A Christmas Story Live at a local theater.




17.  I made a Christmas pancake breakfast for my boys-- after breaking quite a few glass bowl while taking them out of the cabinet!



18.  After running a few errands while Alec was at karate we decided to spend the rest of the day in the house enjoying the heat.

19.  The boys and I took a tour of Tower Hill Botanical Gardens all decorated for Christmas.



20.  I made some handmade cards for my boys for Christmas morning.


21. We finished our family puzzle!


22.  I braved the stores and got my Christmas grocery shopping done then rewarded myself with a new book!

23.  I sat at the kitchen table and watched over Alec as he baked up a cake and some cookies.



24.  We celebrated Christmas Eve at my mom's house with my siblings, nieces and nephews.




25.  We had a very merry Christmas at home.




26. I spent the day trying to organize the house which somehow turned into taking down just about all the Christmas decorations.  

27.  I got a few scrapbooking pages done-- my first pages in a few years!




28.  After running out in the pouring rain to do groceries, I spent the afternoon helping Evan with a puzzle, got Alec started on a string art project, and coached Ian in making some fresh pizza dough for dinner.




29.  It was a game day and we played Star Wars Family Feud as a family after the younger boys and I played Exploding Kittens with the Imploding Kittens and Streaking Kittens expansion packs added in.  



30.  I spent my morning cleaning out my old craft room and trying to come up with a winter/ Valentine's themed mantle then spent my afternoon at the woodworking shop with my husband making cabinet doors.  

31.  I watched over Alec as he made an orange creamsicle cake from scratch with a vanilla cake base and fresh orange frosting.
