Yankee Candle Store For Christmas

We had a fabulous time at the Yankee Candle flagship store in Deerfield, Massachusetts.  We couldn't have picked a better day to head up there if we had tried.  We had beautiful skies and got there just as the doors opened. 




Our first stop was a room we had not seen last time and we spent lots of time picking out some new favorite scents.



We went to check out the mini villages and the younger boys were thrilled to see both a Grinch village and a Harry Potter set!





We moved onto the "snow" room where it snows indoors every 4 minutes and then went to check out all the little shops full of Christmas ornaments, statues, and wonderful displays.





There are lights and trees everywhere!





We went to check out Santa's workshop (which is full of toys of all kinds) and then the candy store.



There are a few rooms with trains circling the ceiling, little kids can line up to sit with Santa, there's just something to see for all ages everywhere you look.

I particularly loved the Vera Bradley and Alex and Ani sections.



We stopped in the central cafe to have a snack and enjoy the fountain.  The boys each picked out a new ornament and then we settled on what we wanted to see before heading to the registers with our purchases.




We capped our day off with lunch out at Red Robin and a fun stop at the largest Barns and Noble my boys have ever seen.. just 30 minutes down the road in Holyoke.  By then my boys were shopped out and it was time to head home.

    What a great store! That is awesome that they have Alex and Ani in the middle of the candle store! What a wonderful place to go to get your Christmas presents - everything in one place! Thanks for sharing!

      Yeah they really do have a little bit of everything! I told the boys we need to go earlier next year; perhaps in November so that I can really take advantage. This year I really only bought for me as I had my Christmas shopping mostly done. Not that I'm complaining!

      That is a wonderful smell; I like most of their food scents. I tend to like ones like cinnamon, pumpkin spice, vanilla... anything that makes it smell like I've been baking.

    Yankee Candle will always be my most favorite candle ever to burn! My go to is Apple Pumpkin. It smells like i've been baking all day long =)

      Now that sounds like my kind of scent! I picked the pumpkin vanilla spice and apple gingerbread this time... heavenly!

 Happy April Fool's day to you! It's the first Monday of the month and time for Prime Purchases with Tanya.  I was doing so well with my Amazon purchases right up until the end of the month when we decided to host Easter dinner at our house and I felt like I "needed" so much not having any Easter decorations at all.  I bought a few new cardigans for this "in between" season and really love this cable knit one so much it's all I can do to keep myself from buying a second one! Alec's Accepted Student Day at JWU

Last spring when Alec started his college planning I was pretty surprised that he only wanted to visit 2 colleges out of state (he visited a few in-state with his high school culinary class).  He ultimately decided to apply to just the 2 colleges we visited-- Johnson and Wales University (JWU) and the Culinary Institute of America (CIA). Both ranked as the #1 & #2 schools in the U.S for culinary and baking/pastry arts. Day in the Life: Friday Favorites

 I decided to document last Friday for today's Friday Favorites post. I hardly ever document a day in the life anymore now that my boys are grown and mostly on their own. But I knew we had a pretty full day and thought it might be fun.  These are some of my favorite posts to read and I think I did a pretty great job remembering to document and take pictures for the whole day! 5:00 wake up and I allow myself to blog, read emails, etc. until 5:30 5:30 get up, get dressed for the gym, put away my laundry from the night before, make the bed. 5:45 head downstairs to make Alec's lunch (1/2 way though he came to the balcony to tell me he wasn't going to school since he wasn't feeling well-- he's 18 and allowed to make this call himself).  I decided to make a salad, some chicken salad, hard boil some eggs, and cut up all the fruit since we had just done groceries after dinner last night and none of that had been done yet. I emptied, reloaded, and restarted the dishwasher.
