My Boys' December Books

With only two full weeks of school in December and lots of holiday fun abound my boys didn't have a whole lot of time to read this month. As they read more challenging books I am finding that the quantity of books being read each month is slowly dwindling but as all three really challenged themselves this month to read books that they might not have attempted even a few short months ago I am quite please with those books they did manage to read.

Seven Wonders: The Curse of the King-- in book 4 Jack and his friends face their greatest challenge yet; finding the lost statue of Zeus and unlocking it's ancient secrets.

Seven Wonders Book 4: The Curse of the King by [Lerangis, Peter]

Wings of Fire Book 2 The Lost Heir-- Alec got Evan hooked on this series of books and he slowly read his way through the whole book independently!!  I can now officially say I have three independent readers.

Pacific Vortex-- Ian finished up his first full adult novel and enjoyed this Dirk Pitt adventure book so much he's asked me to request the second book in the series.  I think he's really going to enjoy this whole treasure/ sunken ship finding series.

Keeper of the Lost Cities book 4; Neverseen-- As Sophie battles the rebels she uncovers dark memories from her past.

Unwanteds Book 2; Island of Silence-- With the magical land of Artime now all open to all Alex and his twin brother Aaron battle leaving both worlds hanging in the balance.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Illustrated Edition-- Evan and I read a few more chapters in the Prisoner of Azkaban.

The Christmasaraus-- I was actually surprised by how entertaining all three boys seemed to think this book was! Totally improbable and completely silly at times they enjoyed this story of a boy who accidentally gets a real dinosaur for Christmas one year.

Sister's Grimm book 7: The Everafter War--  Sabrina and Daphne's parents wake from their sleeping spell but then they are all caught up in a war.

Beyonders: A world Without Heroes-- Alec saw this series at Barnes and Noble and though it is quite long at over 500 pages he dove right in!  Jason tumbles into a magical world beyond our own and finds that he is not completely welcomed there.  As he tried to find his way back home he finds himself getting wrapped up in a quest.

Each of the boys got at least one book for Christmas and Alec received a whole stack of them so make sure you pop in at the end of next month and see what else they've read.

Pin for later:

    1. The movies were fantastic; one of the best book to movies transitions I've ever seen.
