A Fabulous Fall Wreath

In anticipation of fall, I decided to make a new wreath for the front door.  I just love wreath making as I find it to be fairly simple.  Plus I just love the statement it makes when people are walking up to the house.

I has inspired me to work on decorating the whole front porch for fall.

I typically purchase a grapevine wreath, some faux flowers, and ribbon... this year I even found an adorable pumpkin and some florist leaves that I wanted to use.

I began by breaking off flowers, leaves, and leaves and tucking them into the grapevine wreath where I thought I might like them.

I tend to work in clumps and clusters and will not glue anything down until I like the way the entire wreath looks.

Once I have everything where I'd like it, I plug in the hot glue gun and work my way slowly from one of the other gluing everything in place.

While the summer wreath was holding up quite well I knew it was time to exchange it for a nice fall one.  I carted my new wreath downstairs and it was out with the old and in with the new.

It was quite a transformation and I just love how it looks!

  6. I love the choice of florals, so pretty for fall with that cute little pumpkin! I'm like you, in that I always lay it out first before securing just to make sure I like it. Pinning!

  7. It’s a stunning wreath. I’m still enjoying the last days of summer while they last, so I haven’t started on the fall decor.
Thank you for sharing at The Really Crafty Link Party this week. Pinned.

    1. I just put our fall decor out this week as our temps look like they might be dipping permanently this time... maybe? It's hard to tell but I think fall might be here to stay.

  8. Your wreath looks great! I try to do the same as you and don't glue things in place until I'm happy with how it looks. Pinned to my fall board.

  9. This is lovely! I don't need a new fall wreath. I have one I haven't found a place to hang just yet. But this is tempting me. Thanks for sharing at What'd You Do This Weekend!

    Wishes for tasty dishes,

    1. I find I often buy decorations for the house only to let it sit for weeks while I try to figure out where/ how to display them.

  11. Grapevine wreaths are some of my favorites. I haven't made one in awhile. Your wreath looks great against your blue door.

  12. Your wreathe is beautiful! I prefer bright colors (and my fave is purple!) and I love the brights of fall rather than tans and grays! However, my favorite flowers are pink roses so I love your old wreathe, too; I'd hope you find a good place for it in the house!

    1. Thank you! I saved the old wreath to use again come spring. I typically try to get at least two years out of every wreath I make.
