Dollar Store Craft Challenge-- Teacup Bird Feeder
I'm joining up with a group of bloggers today to bring you our dollar store craft challenges. This is where we take a few supplies found at the dollar store and turn it into something fabulous and fun. I ended up making an adorable teacup bird feeder.
I finally bought a little teacup and saucer and decided to try making a cute bird feeder.
First I glued the cup and saucer together using E600 and setting it aside for 24 hours to dry.
Once it was dry and cured I used some paint markers to decorate my teacup.
I kept the design simple and just made it up as I went along |
After the paint was dry I did spray two coats of a spray sealer over it all and then set the project aside one final time until the sealer dried.
I wasn't sure how to hang my bird feeder though. For now I have it tied up with ribbon and hanging from one of my garden stakes.
But I do love the whimsy of a teacup in my garden!
How did we all meet the challenge?

The teacup looks like a sweet little design you bought not one that you created . So weet. Great little addition to the garden.
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you! I did have to wipe off my first few tries until I found a cute little design I loved.
DeleteThis turned out so cute!! I Love it and I'll bet your birdies do too!

DeleteCute project. I'm afraid between the dogs and the squirrels/chipmunks it wouldn't last long.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't sure how it would fare with out cat either; I try to keep our bird feeders up higher so they're safe from our predator.
DeleteThis is such a cute idea!! There will be fights at dawn between the local birds and squirrels in my garden tho! xx Maria | Passion fruit, Paws and Peonies

DeleteI just don't know why I haven't done this yet. I always love tea cup bird feeders and like you I love the whimsy of it. It's always a disappointment to visit the dollar store with a project in mind and they are out of your needed supplies! Your tea cup bird feeder is really fun!
