Zebra Cookies
My husband loves chocolate chip cookies and while I enjoy them too I can get a bit sick of them after awhile. I have found that changing up the types of chips, the amount of chips and substituting different types of extract for the vanilla extract goes a long way in satisfying us both.
The cookies I made last weekend quickly became a favorite of everyone in the house.
The cookies I made last weekend quickly became a favorite of everyone in the house.
With a mixture of semi- sweet, dark chocolate, and white chocolate chips we quickly took to dubbing them zebra cookies and I know we'll be making them again!
Ingredients:
2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter, softened
3/4 cups granulated sugar
3/4 cups brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1 cup semi- sweet chocolate chips
1 cup dark chocolate chips
1 cup white chocolate chips
1. In a medium bowl I mixed together the flour, baking soda and salt.
2. In the stand mixer I whipped the butter, sugars, extract and eggs together until light and fluffy.
3. I slowly poured the flour mixture into the butter mixture with the beater on low.
4. Once it was all mixed together I removed the bowl from the stand mixer and folded in all the chips; making sure to combine them thoroughly.
5. I heated the oven to 375 and lined my baking sheet with parchment paper. I used my small Pampered Chef scoop to put the cookie dough on the liner.
6. I baked them in the oven for 9-11 minutes until light golden brown on the edges. Then I let them cool for a few minutes before moving them to a cooling rack to let them cool completely.
Lots of yummy chips in each bite!
