My August Reads

I've been reading so many books lately!  I finally branched out a little from Elin Hilderbrand and Nancy Thayer.  While I enjoyed reading their books tremendously for summer fun and picturing myself on Nantucket I had to branch out.

I've been reading up a storm though and even though we're only mid-way through August I've already got a big list!

I have stumbled upon some really wonderful books!

Liane Moriarty-- My Husband's Secret-- When she finds a letter from her husband that is not meant to be read one woman's life is turned upside down.

Also by Liane Moriarty-- What Alice Forgot-- When Alice comes to on the gym floor she has lost 10 years of her life and has to start putting pieces together to figure out how her life has veered so far from the course she once set.

I am a huge Debbie Macomber fan so I had to read-- Girl's Guide to Moving On-- A mother and daughter- in- law work on reinventing themselves and leaving their old lives behind while helping each other move on from unfaithful relationships of the past.

Magic By Danielle Steel -- Following the lives of a set of friends and all the changes that can take place in one year.  It all starts on a magical fate-filled night in Paris and ends one year later on the same night.

Nicolas Sparks --The Rescue-- Following the story of a rescue worker.  He can face raging fires, missing children, and all sorts of tragedies without fear but some fear holds him back from falling in love.

Everything We Keep by Kerry Longsdale-- When Aimee fiance's disappears and dies just weeks before their wedding she is left to put a new life together for her self.  As she struggles to move on she is approached by a woman who tells her that her fiance is still alive.  Driven to find the answers Aimee puts her life on hold and unravels secret after secret.

Mary Kay Andrews-- The Weekenders -- Riley is looking forward to her summer on Belle Isle but arrives to find a foreclosure notice on her door and learns her husband has been murdered.  As she finds herself unraveling secret after secret she valiantly works to put her life back together for herself and her daughter.

Elin HIlderbrand-- Here's to Us -- I couldn't totally give up on Elin Hilderbrand!  When celebrety chef Dean Thrope dies his three wives (current and exes) and their families meet on Nantucket to honor his last wishes.  Tensions run high and  all sorts of secrets are revealed.  In the end family bonds prevail and these women find a way to put the past in the past where it belongs.

  1. I think I've read all of Liane Moriarty's books! They're great! I'll have to look for the Nicolas Sparks book; I haven't read that one. I've been going through Harlan Coben's books this summer!

    1. I had never read Liane Moriarty before but I just LOVED LOVED LOVED What Alice Forgot! I'll definitely be reading more of them.

  2. What an excellent list of books! I love Nicholas Sparks and have read all his books. I have quite a few 1st Editions signed by him. They are some of my favorites in my collection Thank you for sharing with us at #SimplifyWednesdays! Pinned, Tweeted, Shared

    1. I am a little late getting on the Nicholas Sparks bandwagon. I've read a few of his books over the past year and do just love them.

  3. OK, ok...I'll give Nicholas Sparks a try! This is the 3rd post I've read this week where I've seen him mentioned!! Dear many books, so little time ;-)

Thanks so much for sharing this at Coffee and Conversation last week - it was our most-viewed post and we'll be featuring it this week!!

    Have an awesome week!!

    1. I just started reading his books last year and I do love them. My favorite one of his? Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas. I was bawling my eye out by the end though (just to warn you!). Now I enjoy reading his books and then watching the movies; of course they never made them the same... and in my opinion the books are always better.

  4. They all look good!! Thanks so much for stopping by and for your kind comments!

    1. They were; I'd have a very hard time picking a favorite.
