Reading About Summer

Our library bag is always overflowing.

We request books so frequently and stop by our library so often that we're known on sight by all of our librarians.  We often have a box of books waiting for us to pick them up; especially during the school year when we are really diving into science, history, and reading.

And yet it hasn't been up until recently that I have made sure to remember to include books for myself!

I love to read.  But I can sometimes go whole months without making the time to read.  Summer is a time that we slow down our lives, simplify our "to do" lists and I find that I have no problem reading book after book.

It is my indulgence; I read sappy romance novels, love stories, and stories about family struggles.

This summer I have been reading a new book every few days!

So far every one of my favorite "summer books" that I have read have taken place on Nantucket Island (which is now on my "to visit" list!) and I just love how summary they all make me feel.

I have found two new favorite authors and have been devouring their books!  Elin Hilderbrand and Nancy Thayer bring these summer tales to life.

Right now I'm reading A Summer Affair

I have already read Summerland

Nantucket sisters

Island Girls

Next on my "to read" list:

Here's to Us

The Rumor

Summer House

The Guest Cottage

  1. We are kindred spirits. Just this morning I finished Here's To Us. Fabulous novel. She is my go to author for summer reading. I have read every book and continue to seek out when her new releases come out. I have read Nancy Thayer's books too. She is good to but Elin H. Is the gal! Thanks for sharing on Book Wino.

    1. Oooh! A box on wheels; what a great idea. Then I wouldn't have to break my back trying to carry them all!

    1. Clearly! I know they say you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover but I totally do!
