45 Things to do This Fall
    Each season I try to brainstorm some ideas of how we can make the most of that season.  Our list typically includes some family favorites but I always try to incorporate new things too.  Thinking of things to do this fall I thought I'd start making a list and see how many we can accomplish before the crisp fall air gives way to blustery snowstorms. 
Here are some fun family ideas for celebrating fall:

- Pick Apples
 - Go on a Hay Ride
 - Find our way through a corn maze
 - Rake leaves and jump in the piles
 - Go hiking
 - Roast Pumpkin Seeds
 - Press leaves
 - Bob for apples
 - Make leaf rubbings
 - Drink hot cocoa while watching the sunrise or sunset
 - Go on a drive to see the leaves the changing colors
 - Enjoy a fire outside
 - Make candy apples
 - Make cider donuts
 - Check out a fall festival
 - Play football or field hockey as a family
 - Make apple pies, crisp or cider
 - Tell ghost stories
 - Carve pumpkins
 - Go to Salem, Massachusetts and check out some of the witch trial museums
 - Go to Plymouth Plantation
 - Make a blanket fort and read fun seasonal books together
 - Make a Scarecrow
 - Have a family game night in front of a roaring fire
 - Have a carpet picnic one night
 - Make pumpkin bread or pumpkin cinnamon buns
 - Host or go to a Halloween party
 - Go on a scavenger hunt
 - Watch a spooky movie with some popcorn
 - Volunteer at the local food bank and make some extra food donations
 - Plant some acorn seeds
 - Make some "thankful" garland. Write what you're thankful for on strips of autumn shaded paper and make a paper chain to decorate the house.
 - Zoo Boo days trip
 - Go on a family bike ride
 - Walk through a Jack- O- Lantern spectacular
 - Go to the Pequot Museum
 - Visit a lumber mill
 - Gaze at the stars
 - Make apple prints
 - Take a field trip to a farm
 - Visit Pumpkintown
 - Take a train ride up north
 - Read the Headless Horseman and watch the animated movie
 - Eat Mummy hot dogs and go trick or treating
 - Decorate the windows with a collage like this one
