Another Wednesday Hodgepodge!
Look at me joining in with Joyce's link up twice in one month! She shares the questions each Tuesday for Wednesday's post if you want to join in as well.
1. What are you currently juggling in your life? I have a million lists that I'm juggling right now; I have a list of who we sent invitation to and who we've heard back from for Alec's grad party, I also have a list of food I want to prepare and grocery lists for what to buy when as well as when to start making which foods all for the party. I have a list of things I want to get done around the house before the party and what decorations I want to put where. Meanwhile I'm also simultaneously planning our Acadia trip and I have a list of hikes to try, places to eat, and things to do that aren't hiking.
They are so sparkly! |

3. What food festival would you most like to attend? If you need help here are links to some of the bigger and more popular food events around the world- I'm not a big food festival kind of person because I really don't like crowds and hate standing in line just to order one little something. We have stumbled upon the Disney food and wine festival a time or two on our trips and while it looked fun and yummy we didn't really take advantage of any of the extra food options. I'm such a sucker for desserts though that I don't think I'd be able to pass up a desert food festival.
4. May is the 5th month of the year. Tell us something you remember about your 5th grade year. 5th grade my best friend and I were in adjoining classrooms and our teachers were great friends too so they often opened the door between classrooms and my best friend and I would hang out with each other sitting in the doorway. That was also the year my reading really took off and I just started devouring books.
I THINK this was taken around 5th grade--- I'm second from the left in the back and my best friend from 5th grade is second from the left in the front |
5. What are your favorite five words right now? Sunshine, summer, graduation, vacation, beach
6. Insert your own random thought here. With Alec's senior prom this past weekend my husband and I have been reminiscing about mine (he didn't want to go to his senior prom). We had the best time at my prom but it seems crazy to think that was 29 years ago!
My mom and I made my dress |
The one in the middle in black is that same best friend from 5th grade |
A group photo of the many friends we hung out with that year-- I'm second from the left in the middle row and my husband is right behind me. |

Love your throwback pics! And yes to your five words. They are my words to at the moment! Except insert mountains instead of beach. :)

Funny enough I was thinking of Acadia National park and that has BOTH mountains and beach!
DeleteWhat fun it is to reminisce and you have some great photos to look back on!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteGreat pictures and I am with you on several of your answers!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteOh the cheer pic is cracking me up! Love the prom pics too- so sweet that you and your hubby have this memory together :)
ReplyDeleteThat cheer picture is one of the very few photo I have from that time period; I know my mom has lots more packed away somewhere but I was surprised to find that I really don't have many until 8th grade or so.
DeleteLook how cute you are in your cheer picture! Good luck with the planning of fun things coming up with the party and your trip.
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you!
DeleteI love the photos.

Thank you!
DeleteI went to senior prom but only because we wanted to make a spectacle of it. My best friend was really into Victorian things and he literally made me a dress with a five foot diameter! It was pretty crazy. My husband didn't go to his either and I fear my oldest won't. He doesn't want to have much to do with traditional school stuff.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like lots of fun! This was our only chance at prom since he's my only boy to have attended a traditional school (my other two have/did homeschool through high school) but I did let him make that choice all on his own with just a little nudging from me and his friends.
DeleteLove the throwback pictures :) good luck with all the graduation party planning!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThat is really cute that you and your husband went to prom together. The Disney food festival was a good choice!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I will happily attend just about anything "Disney!"
DeleteOMG I love the cheerleader picture! You were so cute!
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you!
DeleteNice to meet you at the Hodgepodge. It was fun to see your photos from the past, Cute! Our son and daughter-in-law went to their senior prom together. I'm sure the graduation party will be a success! Hope you have a peaceful Memorial Day weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteFun prom memories! You are juggling a lot right now but with all of your lists, I'm sure you've got it all under control.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I feel like I have it all mostly under control. I'm trying not to stress too much and do the big things first so if I need to I can always let the little things slide.
DeleteLove the old photos!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI love the old prom pictures! And 5th grade too!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI love the prom picture! My prom dress was off white and when my girls see the photo they say it looks like I'm getting married lol. I met my hubs in college : ) You have a lot happening in the next little bit, but you seem to have it under control and I'm sure will be a lot of fun. And a trip to Acadia to look forward to...one of my favorite spots! Enjoy your holiday weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI love the old photos. Especially that you and your mom made your dress.
ReplyDeleteA long time ago, I went to a chocolate festival. Considering I was a sugar addict at the time, it was incredible.

Yeah, I actually made quite a bit of my clothing in high school with my mom's help.
DeleteGreat memories and photos! I hope you're able to get all the planning sorted out for the party and your trip. I didn't think about it but I'm juggling my usual responsibilities with trying to get ready for our weekend trip too. And not doing a good job. LOL Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful weekend as well!
DeleteI loved these pics of you and you have not "changed" at all. Lovely smiles. Denyse
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you!
DeleteI only went to my Junior prom and made my dress, too. I had silver platforms which I wish I still had! I really enjoy these kinds of posts!

Thank you!
DeleteI am having to buy clothes for 2 of the boys today: packing for our trip and realizing that I don't have enough shorts (and tees) for a week's worth of clothes. Graduation is tonight. The party was last Sunday and was perfect! Loving your old pics =)
ReplyDeletewww.chezmireillefashiontravelmom.com
After buying Alec's pants I went through his drawers and found that so many of this clothes are a size medium (he wears an XL!). So I've been picking out shorts and t-shirts for him for the summer. Have fun at graduation!
DeleteThis was a fun post!! All the happy memories. I love your story about 5th grade, the door open, the reading. Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteGreat photos. Love fun memories.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteLoved your post. I do agree that crowds and lines would be a detterent to me at a food festival. Loved your prom photos.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI always love when you include some throwback pictures in your posts! How fun!! And I feel you on all the lists. I feel like I'm juggling a ton of different lists right now, too. Thankfully, a lot of them are done, but now we're planning for our beach trip, so this week will be busy yet again!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I think I am getting down to the last few lists; and need to start writing up my packing list!
