Wellness Weekend: Getting Back on Track

 I had a great first week back on Weight Watchers.  While I never really left Weight Watchers I had gotten away from logging foods and started slowly gaining weight back. I figured the start of the new year after all the holiday indulgence was the perfect time to get back into gear.


I began logging everything I ate on my app and stayed within the blue dot range every single day.  I would like to lose 12 pounds to meet my goal weight.  I re-read all my old weight loss posts to reacquaint myself with all my favorite WW meals and snacks and wrote up a new grocery list.  I did manage to drop 1 lb. in that first week!  

I ate lots and lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and even cooked up a crust less quiche for a delicious 1 point lunch.


My second week hit a little speed bump with two last minute take out meals and a birthday celebration but I refuse to beat myself up over living life.  I am however making a commitment to work out at least 3 days a week.  A combination of yoga, stability ball workouts, Pilates, hiking, and using our treadmill should make getting back on track easier to do. 


I feel so much better when I am following my meal planning and cutting back on all the snacks.  I am determined to get back on track.

  1. I think the biggest thing in a weight loss journey is giving ourselves grace when we don't reach our goals. Sometimes other things are more important.

    1. I think so too, but on the other hand it can sometimes be too easy to give myself grace and not hold myself accountable either.

  2. Good for you. I hope to get back on track soon too. I am extraordinarily busy right now painting my very large sunroom (if you've ever seen pictures, you know it's a massive room with very high peaks), so I have no time to exercise. Another week or two I should be done and then I can go back to my regular schedule.

    1. Oh I think painting totally counts as exercise! That uses so many muscles.

  3. You're doing awesome! It's good to give yourself a break when you hit those speed bumps! I always eat better when we meal plan too.

  4. I love that you gave yourself grace. I think it's so important to have a balance. :) My mom used to make the cabbage soup recipe from Weight Watchers that was really tasty.

    1. I have never tried the cabbage soup but I'll have to add it to our menu next week; I have a cabbage coming in our Misfit box this week.

  6. Those last 10-15 lbs always seem to be the hardest to lose. I need to get motivated to eat better and exercise because I'm just feeling gross lately.

    1. They really are so stubborn but I was down that low pre-pandemic and pre- surgery so I know I'll get there again. I managed to hike for an hour and 40 minutes today-- that's got to help!

  7. Way to get back on track, Joanne! I have been trying not to beat myself up for living life, too! I have been doing short yoga sessions (15-40 minutes depending on what I need) every morning before I start the day for the past 2.5 weeks. They say that it takes 2 weeks to create a habit and I can honestly say that after two weeks, I really look forward to doing yoga. I can even feel myself getting stronger already and I don't like missing the practice because it centers me and helps me set my intentions and focus for each day.     1. That's wonderful! I go through spurts where I exercise every day but as soon as I skip one or two days it's so hard for me get back into it.
