Prime Purchases in August

Image
I bought a bit less than usual from Amazon in August and was doing so well spending wise until the very end of the month when I went a little crazy buying long sleeved tops and sweaters for fall.  Sorry they're not the best pictures; I had planned an outdoor photo shoot but the weather just did not want to cooperate. I'm mostly going to focus on the clothing since I just LOVE these tops & sweaters. This cute color block shirt with the ribbon ties has been on my wishlist forever and I am so glad I finally bought it! Another cute color block shirt that is so comfy and will be perfect for fall hikes. I like the little neck out out detail. This long cardigan is versatile and thin enough to be worn with just about anything. I can not wait until it is cool enough to wear this sweater ; I just love the button detail on the sleeves. This chunky cable knit sweater is perfect for pairing with leggings! Health/Beauty: I bought Elderberry

Books I Read in August

Image
I read so many great books this month!  I read over a dozen of them and enjoyed each and every one of them.  I read a wide variety of genres too.  1.  The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins -- I know there has been mixed reviews about this prequel to the Hunger Games series but I just LOVED it!  It's just over 500 pages and I read it in under two days.  This book focuses on Snow and his life starting his last year of high school and what changes him into the formidable president that presides over the Hunger Games.  I didn't want to like him or feel bad for him but I did... I knew where the book was heading of course but I still didn't like the ending and his choices. 2.   Big Lies in a Small Town by Diane Chamberlain -- Written as two story lines; Anna the artist who painted a mural for the town of Edenton, North Carolina back in the winter 1939 and Morgan who was been hired to restore the mural that was never put on display in summer

How I Did on My August Goals & Setting September's Goals

Image
It's nearly the end of the month and time to check in and see how I did with my goals before setting new goals for September.  August was a super hot month and we saw so many changes on what back to school would look like that I just gave up on planning anything. I didn't even remember what goals I had set for myself and while I kept meaning to check on them.. I just kind of forgot.  All in all though I did pretty good!   My August Goals : Get Alec all settled and ready to start at his new school -- Check, I guess?  They haven't started yet and won't until this coming week but I think we are as ready as we can be with his uniforms cleaned, new backpack and lunch box, & a quasi schedule in place. Begin school with the other two boys - Nope! Our plan was to start homeschooling when Alec started school but the start date got pushed back a few days so we'll start next month.  Take Ian to get his learner's permit-- Check! He passed with flying colo
