Prime Purchases in October

Every month when I go to put together this list I head on over to Amazon to remind myself what I've been priming and I'm always a little stunned at the sheer number of orders and items we purchase each month.  Even on months I think I didn't buy much we usually have a lot of orders.  Partly because Amazon is my go to place for shopping for everything and partly because 2 day shipping often sounds better to me than getting in my car and driving to an actual store.  Can you relate?

Here is what we've been buying this month

For the home:

We needed new piping bags-- with all the baking and cake decorating Alec does we go through a lot of them.  We decided to try this brand this time.

Alec lost his retainer case (thankfully not the retainers!) so we bought him a new one. I'm hoping these bright colors will help him keep track of it.

We bought a new puzzle to work on as a family.  I wanted a pretty fall scene and finally settled on this one.

I needed some new lotion as my eczema has been flaring up lately.  I love the Dionis brand and decided to try their Vanilla Bean fragrance this time. It smells wonderful!
I have so many new clothes that are all hand wash or line dry only and needed a new drying rack.  I tried putting the one we use outside all summer for towels and bathing suits in our bathtub but it was too big so I ordered this one.

Evan and Ian needed some new books to read.  Evan discovered a graphic novel series he really enjoys that our library does not carry so I ordered him this boxed set. Ian wanted to next Dirk Pitt novel and since he feels rushed to read library books I offered to buy him his own copy of Raise the Titanic.

Electronics:

Alec bought himself a Nintendo Switch Lite at the urging of his brother-- he LOVES it!

He also bought himself a new headset with microphone since his brothers no longer want him borrowing theirs.  He picked out this nice set he hopes will last this time.

Evan had some gift cards piling up from his birthday and decided to buy himself a new Xbox game he'd been eyeing-- Monster Hunter World Iceborn.  He also bought Monster Hunter as he discovered he needed it to play the expansion pack.

He also decided to buy himself a rechargeable battery pack for his remote since we never seem to keep enough AA batteries on hand.

We did buy a big batch of energizer AA batteries from Amazon too while we were at it for the other controllers.

Our printer was out of ink so I bought these refills (which I've used before without any problems).

Ian has been saving up his money for months now in the hopes of buying himself a new laptop.  He finally had enough saved and we discovered that it was cheapest on Amazon so he ordered that this month too.

Clothing:

I've had my eye on this sweatshirt forever and while the last thing I need in my wardrobe is another hooded sweatshirt I ended up caving and ordering it.  It's very thin; almost more the weight of a long sleeved shirt and I'm thinking it will be perfect for the spring too.

I caved in and bought myself another of my favorite sweaters.  I bought this wonderful cashmere sweater in a bright red for the Christmas holidays.

We were having family photos taken this month and I needed a deep burgundy scarf to finish off my outfit.  I ordered this one on Amazon and while it was too bright of a red tone when it came in I did decide to keep it.

I needed a gray tank top to go under the sweater I wanted to wear for our family photos and settled on this one.  It's comfy and fitted and stays in place pretty well under my bulky fall sweaters.

I ordered this sweater but returned it since it was much smaller than I thought it would be and completely see-through.

I also ordered and returned this sweater; it was just an awkward cut and I honestly could not figure out HOW to put it on! LOL.  In the photo it looked like there was a wide band around the bottom but that was not the case. It was uncomfortable and just fit weird no matter how I tried to wear it.

Crafting Supplies:

I am taking part in an ornament exchange with some other bloggers and needed some supplies to make ornaments.  I am paired up with a couple people so I don't think I'm giving anything away by saying I bought these buffalo check plaid squares, these small embroidery hoops, and some of this spray paint that gives a neat mirrored look to anything you spray.

Not pictured:
I  needed some more tape for my scrapbooking as well as new blades for my Cricut.

Ian needed some glue, paint thinner, and a new kit for his model making.  (I can't show the model kit since he's making it as a gift for someone)

I also bought some blank envelopes for mailing my Christmas cards and a few packets of tissue paper too.

We also bought a lot of parts for the new Ranger we picked up last month; just for maintenance.

When you add up what I spent versus what my boys spent I think I should have titled this post what the boys have been Priming this month!

  1. I found Dionis lotion at a gift shop a few months ago and love it. It's in my car because for some reason I always notice how dry my hands are while driving lmao.

    1. That's funny! I tend to put lotion on my hands right before bed so I mostly keep mine in my nightstand but I do have one bottle in my purse.

    1. I hadn't either until he asked me to get it; apparently the only difference is it can never be hooked up to a TV.

  9. Oh those retainers! Grace has done a great job of keeping up with hers, but I'm kind of dreading the boy experience with them!

    1. I have been so impressed with how well he keeps an eye on them and how often he actually wears his! I thought for sure we'd have lost those things a million times by now as he's not my most organized but I guess when it really counts he's getting so much better.
