Friday Favorites: The Week We Did Some Glass Fusion

The boys and I took a glass fusion class 4 years ago and while we really enjoyed it we never thought to go back... until this week!  It was so much fun (and much less expensive than I remember too!).  We'll definitely be back again to try another project one day.

Ian was doing well enough on Friday after his wisdom teeth removal the day before that I was still able to take Evan to his well-check this year at the Doctor's office.  He did great and had the doctor laughing.  We then headed to the grocery store to do a little shopping (mostly for soft foods Ian felt like eating) and we brought home Panera take- out for lunch.  It was delicious!  I bought myself some very pretty flowers at the grocery store.  Aren't they pretty?

Saturday I tucked myself away in my crafting corner and worked on a few Christmas crafts.  I loved how this shadow box came out so much I ordered another frame to make a second/similar project this weekend!  Ian and Alec had headed off to work with my husband and were gone until lunch time.

Though Ian wasn't up for hiking on Monday the younger two boys and I met up with some friends and hiked for an hour.  It was a bit cloudy but temps had warmed up to nearly 60 and we just had to take advantage of the nice weather.

The boys and I had plans to head out and tackle another glass fusion project on Wednesday.  At the last minute we invited my mom to come keep us company while we crafted and we had a wonderful afternoon together.  I can't wait to see what these goodies look like after they've been fired in the kiln.

My ornament; I thought I was done but the boys suggested I add a bit of "snow" to his hat.

Alec made a sun catcher cutting each piece of glass with the nippers and "sketching" the idea out on his own.
A few of my favorite outfits lately:

While the cold weather is not my favorite we did wake to a beautiful looking ice covered lake yesterday.

How was your week?

    1. I love that white sweater; and to think I almost got rid of it because I just assumed it wouldn't fit!

  2. He is feeling really well today; it was rough the first few days but he is able to eat just about anything now. We are both so glad it's behind us.

  3. Those flowers are so pretty! I always love having flowers around. Those glass fusion projects are really neat! I didn't know there were places you could make projects like that! And how beautiful is that lake view?

    1. We found a few of the pottery/ painting ceramic places offer the glass fusion since the glass needs to be fired in a kiln for all the layers to melt together (I should have our completed projects back to share in another couple of weeks).
