Friday Favorites-- The Week with 2 Museum Trips
I love that the weather cooperated enough with us this week that we were able to squeeze in three field trips! We went to two different museums with some homeschooling friends and took in a movie one afternoon just for fun.
Here are a few of our favorite moments from the week:
My boys and I had so much fun checking out the Yale Peabody museum of natural history on Friday. We met some friends of our there and spent over 2 hours exploring everything!
Alec and I made some homemade cinnamon buns over the weekend; this recipe is our favorite! Though this time we tried experimenting with wheat flour and didn't like them as much (though they were still very tasty!).
We woke to a bit of snow on Monday and we finally got to go out in the snow and build a mini snowman for the first time this winter-- we still don't have enough yet to try snowshoeing but maybe soon?
We had time to do a couple of science experiments/ lessons and added to our growing list of 100 Day of Science. We explored rocks and minerals and made a few exploding Ziploc bags comparing the reaction time between warm water and snow.
We went to see the Lego Movie 2; it was super cute.
We went to a second Natural History museum and took in a planetarium show too.

What a fun week! We like the Lego Movie as well!

It was a fun week.
DeleteThank you! If you enjoyed the first lego movie the second will not disappoint.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun week. I need to try that yummy cinnamon roll recipe!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is so good! The frosting has a bit of maple and coffee in it... they didn't turn out as well this time as they usually do and I think it just wasn't warm enough in the house for the dough to rise properly.
DeleteYou are lucky that you live in an area with such interesting museums. And thanks for the cinnamon bun recipe. Yum!
ReplyDeleteWe really are lucky that we have so many museums around to choose from.
DeleteThe museums look very interesting, and I especially enjoy planetarium visits myself. :-) Always love your outdoor photos! Off to check out the cinnamon bun recipe now, as I had been thinking of doing some baking today.
ReplyDeleteWe don't take advantage of planetarium shows as often as we should but they are quite fun.
DeleteWhat a fun week. Aww, my kids would love some snow. Thanks for sharing last week with us at The Weekend Blog Hop #Weekendbloghop
ReplyDeleteWe've had so little snow this year compared to other years.
