Winter Bucket List

With Thanksgiving behind us and Christmas fast approaching I thought it was the perfect time to come up with a holiday and winter bucket list!  We have had quite a bit of snow on the ground already and we can not wait to have some family fun.

1.  Make Snowmen

2.  Go sledding

3.  Visit the Yankee Candle Flagship store again (you can read about last year's trip here).

4.  Make Christmas Cookies

5.  Visit Amarante's Winter Wonderland and see the lights

6.  Watch Elf and/or other holiday movies  (You can read about all our family favorites here)

Deck the Halls

7.  Make homemade marshmallows

8.  Go on a winter hike

9.  Make a bird feeder of some sort.  We had so much fun making these bird seed ornaments a few years ago that I'd like to try another birding craft.

10.  Bake up some homemade cinnamon rolls

11.  Enjoy a roaring fire in the fireplace

12.  Decorate the house for Christmas

13.  See one of the Newport Mansions all decked out for the holidays.  Now that we've toured a few of them we'd really like to go back and see at least one of the houses all decorated for Christmas. You can read about our trip to the Marble House here.

14.  Make paper snowflakes and paper chains.

15.  Decorate a "gingerbread" house of some sort

16.  Watch the sunrise outside with some hot cocoa in hand

17.  Make snow ice cream

18.  Try stringing popcorn and cranberries for the bushes outside.

19.  Try snowshoeing!

20.  Try a winter themed science experiment of some sort

    1. I have no idea!! LOL. I had a friend tell us we had to try making our own since they are nothing like the ones you buy in stores. I hope they aren't too hard...

    1. We've made a few different types of bird feeders through the years. It's lots of fun to see the birds eating from them.

    1. I usually write a giant list too and treat it more like a wish list. Just this past year I decided to write shorter more intentional lists and I found that worked so much better. Plus I feel like I really accomplished something when I get to cross 99% of the items off.

    1. We always took the month off from school when my kids were younger and we spent our time baking, reading Christmas stories, watching Christmas movies, etc. and just focusing on the fun of the season.
