Apple Maple Chex Mix
I really wanted to try experimenting with our Chex mix to see if I could come up with something fall flavored. You'd think with a name like apple maple that this Chex mix would be sweet but it's actually a mix of sweet and savory and it was my favorite flavor combination yet.
To make the apple maple Chex mix you will need:
4 cups Rice Chex
4 cups Corn Chex
2 cups bagel chips
2 cups mini pretzels
2 cups cheddar goldfish crackers
1 stick butter; melted
2 TBSP apple butter
1/2 cup maple syrup
6 TBSP Worcestershire sauce
1/2 TBSP seasoned salt
In a large bowl combine cereals, bagel chips, pretzels, and crackers.
In a small glass dish melt the butter and combine with the rest of the ingredients; making sure everything is evenly coated. (Many of the Chex pieces and bagel chips were so saturated they felt soggy but they crisped right back up in the oven.
Take two cookie sheets lined with parchment paper and spread out the Chix mix. Bake at 250 for an hour; stirring every 15 minutes.
Remove from oven and let cool then store in an air tight container. I can't really say how long it would stay fresh for as didn't even make it a week before it was all gone!
So flavorful and crunchy; it was perfect!
