Bling on the Crafts-- 4th of July T-shirt

On the first Wednesday of each month, a group of DIY and crafty bloggers join forces to bring you the #BlingontheCrafts blog hop. Each blogger creates a glittery, sparkly, shiny, shimmery, sequined, or “blingy” craft to share that goes with a monthly theme.

June's theme is patriotic. Each blogger chooses their own craft to make as long as it shines and is patriotic themed.
If you’d like to participate next month, you can request to join our Bling on the Crafts Facebook group. Next month’s theme is Back to School.

I used my Circut to make a red, white and blue t-shirt. I'd like to say that this was quick or easy or even fun but I am not that great at using my Cricut and after many mistakes and problems I was just about ready to quit.

But I was determined! So I cut out my images using my Circut and computer; once I figured out how to download and upload a SVG file. You can purchase the one I used here.

I then weeded my project; which means I remove everything that I don't want to iron onto my shirt. This proved much trickier with glitter heat transfer vinyl than the plain vinyl I used a few weeks ago.

Once I had them all ready to iron on I lined up all three images to make sure I had them where I wanted them.

Then I ironed them one starting with my bottom most image; layering the other layers on top.

Now let's see all of those glittery, shiny, sparkly, or blinged out crafts!

  1. Challenging project, but looks like it was worth the effort.

    1. I think so; thankfully I learned a lot and have had no problems making more shirts and even some shorts for my nieces and nephews.

  2. I love the shirt, it came out great! Glitter HTV is so hard to weed. I want to use it for my daughters 4th of July shirt though. Making your own shirts is so much fun!

    1. I did find it much harder to weed than regular HTV! But I also realized I needed to replace my blade because I have since made another shirt with glitter HTV and it was much easier... lesson learned. :)

    1. Thank you! I just hope it will be warm enough for a t-shirt this year... so far we're having a chilly season.
