Encouraging Hearts and Home: Focusing on Fashion Accessories

Image
I got a new pair of earrings for my birthday and I feel like I have been wearing them almost exclusively ever since! I love versatile accessories and yet I find I rarely think to look through them at stores because I tend to focus on clothing when I actually go shopping.  I'm trying to keep my eye open more and my eye was caught by a few of the posts from last week's party that focused on fashion accessories.   And Now, It's Time for This Week's Encouraging Hearts & Home Blog Hop!     Join your Encouraging Hearts & Home Co-Hosts each week for encouragement and support for your heart & your home . We hope to provide a space that builds each other up and lends a helping hand along the way. With all the negativity in the world, let's shine a positive light! Monthly Musings: Back to School Prep-- July 2022

Image
I almost didn't join up with Monthly Musings this month since our back to school prep is always all over the place.  Not having done much the "traditional" way with my boys growing up our back to school prep is pretty non-existent most years.  Having one kid working full time while taking just one course at the community college this fall the only back to school prep Ian needs is my credit card to buy his book before his online class starts.   Having another kid that's homeschooling high school; the only back to school prep we needed was to pick out his curriculum and books which we did back in May ( you can read that post here ).  No other special supplies or clothing needed!  SO I guess I'll mostly answer these questions with Alec's schooling in mind since he's my only boy who has ever been to school in a more traditional setting.  A junior at a local technical high school, Alec is enrolled in their culinary program and has a mix of culinary days and tr

I was so thrilled that Lysha gave us all the prompts for July at once.  I still made sure that each week's photos were taken during the actual week's prompts though.  I have given up on using my "real" camera for all the photos though as I've only been taking my cell phone and my really old point and shoot camera on vacations/ trips with me since it's much easier.  I'm still pleased with the photos I took though.  #79 – July 9th – shelf -- All my birthday cards lined up on a shelf  – selfie  – at the beach – drinking -- I'm always drinking iced tea!  – starts with W -- waterlilies! – your choice - The views from our friend's beach house rental #80 – July 16th – on board -- On board the gondola in Gatlinburg  – workspace  – quarterly-- My workspace this week was the deck of our house rental overlooking the mountains.  – favorite -- Sunset views from the balcony were my favorite this week. – summer -- Nothing says summer like an afternoon by the p

What's Up Wednesday: July 2022

I'm back to my What's Up Wednesday posts on a Tuesday!  Can you believe this is the end of July already?! I can not believe how fast this summer is flying by.  Thankfully we've been trying to make the most of it and still have a full month left before we start with all the back to school stuff.  What We're Eating This Week:  Saturday: crock pot turkey breast with roasted potatoes and broccoli Sunday: Pulled pork with zucchini/squash and rice Monday: Citrus/ Yogurt marinated chicken with pasta salad and salad Tuesday: Salmon with rice pilaf and asparagus (the boys will eat chicken, rice pilaf, and salad) Wednesday:   Pancakes , Fruit, and turkey sausage Thursday: Ham and cauliflower alfredo lasagna Friday: Homemade grilled pizzas with salad Saturday: Steak, cheesy grilled potatoes , and green beans.  What I'm Reminiscing About:  It's been a weird summer with Ian working all day and the other two boys choosing to be in their rooms rather than out in the lak
