Friday Favorites-- The Week We Learned About Sustainable Farming
Our week was pretty quiet; as you'll see there isn't much to this Friday Favorites post but I just couldn't skip it as we did have some fun checking out a few new places.
Ian headed off to work on Friday morning and I took the younger two boys to meet some friends of ours at a permaculture garden. We took a tour with a fantastic tour guide who taught us all about sustainable farming practices, permaculture, cob ovens, and so much more. Then we enjoyed a nice 2-3 hour long picnic and getting caught up with one another. It was so great to talk to someone who has been through what I'm dealing with perimenopausal- wise & know I'm not out of my mind like my doctors are making me feel. We then spent the evening having a pizza party with both my sisters, their families and my parents.
Saturday afternoon the younger boys and I met my husband for lunch. We went to Pub99 and had a great time. A couple of my boys have been asking wen we'd go back to the Yankee Candle flagship store and while we always have a great time there I just didn't want to endure that long drive any time soon. Alec has been out of candles and I told him that there are regular stores much closer to us that sell Yankee Candles. We headed to Hallmark after lunch and picked up a few more scented plug in's, some votives, and a car freshener. They had so many great new fall scents out!
We spent the afternoon visiting with my sister, nephews, and parents on Sunday. My sister and kids were heading back home on Tuesday (a whole 6 days later than planned!) and it was our last chance to see them on this trip. My boys are hoping to go down for a beach vacation and visit them next year.
We met up with our hiking group Monday afternoon and we had 10 families hiking with us! We hiked all around the lake and it was so nice catching up with some friends of ours that we haven't seen in a few months.
The rest of our week was pretty quiet with lots of time spent at home; cleaning house, watching TV, and getting the yard ready for fall.

ReplyDeleteIsn't that so neat? They told us the name but I forgot and no matter how much I searched the internet I could not find it's name!
