Prime Purchases in February

I do so well cutting back on my Amazon purchases this month and I am rather proud of myself!  I did buy quite a few books for Evan's schooling next year but I'll have a full post of what we're using for his 10th grade curriculum in another month or two when we're ready to wrap up this year.  I ordered some bathing suits, shoes, and tops for myself-- and returned them ALL!  They were cute and there was nothing wrong with the material but they just weren't my style. I'll share them on here though in case you do think they look like something you'd like.

Easily my 2 favorite purchases this past month were this necklace and these adorable heart earrings (though I did have to exchange the first pair I got since they were broken).

After all the scrapbooking pages I made last month my Cricut mats were no longer sticky so I bought another set and some more adhesive refills too so I'm ready to dig into our Universal trip this month and start on those pages.

Then I couldn't resist this stamp set with ALL the Happy sayings.

I decided to try this lotion for my eczema but I'm not loving it-- mostly I have a hard time with the smell.  I much prefer the cocoa butter I got in the fall.

Alec bought himself a new 3 wick candle and this scent is lovely.. plus the wood topped candle is so pretty.

We stocked up some of our favorite birdseed

Alec wanted some fine almond flour to make macarons with and we tried this brand.

We struggled with making homemade pasta last time since it all stuck together so we bought this drying rack for round 2.

Now for all those items I ordered and returned:

I returned these boots because I really needed a 1/2 size larger.. but they don't come in that size! But they are so cute and so warm!

This pullover was really cute but just too large and too thin for me.  I like a really nice thick plush pullover-- it gets COLD here and if I'm wearing long sleeve it's for warmth not style.

I tried three different bikinis but the tops on the first two were not supportive enough-- this green smocked one, and this blue smocked one. But I did like that the bottoms were high waisted and covered everything quite well.

Lastly, I tried this two piece and while it fit fine I just didn't think it looked very flattering.

  1. Those bathing suits are really cute. But where they expose skin is exactly where I don't want my skin exposed, lol. I agree with your sentiment about long sleeves. If I'm wearing them, it's because I want to be warm. Have a great Monday!

    1. Thank you! I have a couple bikinis I don't mind wearing but I am definitely picky when it comes to how they fit.

  2. Good job this month and so good to not settle! I am still working on that; when an item is just a "meh" for me that means I need to return!

    1. Thank you! I really love that necklace... enough so that I'm thinking of ordering it in another finish..

  4. It's hard to find bathing suits on Amazon and I usually like the bottoms better. I have those boots from Ugg that were gifted to me for Christmas and I love them. I've worn them almost everyday!

    1. I had two last year that I mixed and matched since I only liked the top on one and the bottoms of the other!

  5. I need to be more intentional about my Amazon purchases, lol! Very cute bathing suits and I did not know or even think about getting almond flour from there.

    1. Amazon is usually my go to place when I don't know where else to find what I'm looking for.

  6. I bought a few clothing items on Amazon several weeks ago. Unfortunately everyone of them was tight in the shoulders. One of the things I love about Amazon is the free return. Now I have to decide where I'll go for the clothes. #MMBC

    1. I always make sure any clothing item I'm buying says free returns; because I do return a lot. I feel like it's getting harder and harder to find clothing stores which I know is probably because of all the online shopping but we don't have many stores near us.

  7. What great buys. The necklace and earrings are so cute and the bikini's too but they wouldn't be for me. I don't think they would hold and cover me in the right places.

    1. Yep, that's what I found. I definitely need that awful, uncomfortable underwire if I'm going to wear a 2 piece.

    1. I bet that would work well! I did think it would be a great walking on the beach at the end of the day kind of top-- but we don't ever get to do that up here.

  11. There are some great finds here, the drying rack for the homemade pasta is such a great idea! And the candle sounds like it would be a scent I'd love! My daughter and I really want to try making macaroons but keep putting it off. They sound so complicated!
The swimsuits look really nice too but I am very picky with my swim suits too, so I don't blame you for not settling for one of them. I am sure you will find the perfect one!

    1. Alec has made them at school and keeps insisting they aren't that hard to make; though he did ask for a macaron mat for Christmas... I'm hopeful the bag of flour will get him using it.

  14. I try not to order too much on Amazon (I try to shop other retailers if I can!) but there are just so many random items I can't find anywhere else. And swimsuits are so tricky! The ones you picked out are cute but it's too bad they didn't work out. I prefer the high waisted style as well.

    1. Unless I am willing to travel and spend a full day shopping I don't have many choices for retailers nearby-- just a Kohl's and an Old Navy. I was searching for high waisted bikinis and they had so many options.

  15. I've never gotten candles from Amazon. But, I would hate to say how many I have in storage that I've bought over the years! I usually end up giving my kids several when they run out! Lots of good finds, and while the bikinis are cute, if they don't support you, you're just so uncomfortable, right?

    1. I actually don't buy many candles... though I still have quite a few since I never remember to burn them and they last a long time that way! LOL.
